I've heard it was supposed to be similar to Tales of Symphonia in so many ways, but so much better. That alone is a selling point for me. I sorely wish I had a PS2 to play it on.

I also wish that more people knew about the animated series that was either based off the second game or made the second game's basis. "Star Ocean EX" was the title. It was good.

And why aren't there any trailers for this game on GameTrailers? There's like 10 for Tales of Symphonia and none for this.

Star Ocean EX was based off of SO2. There was also SO: Blue Sphere, which had a manga based off of it.

That looks really really sweet. The first few videos left me wondering, "Is this just a fighting game? I thought my friend said it was an rpg...". Then I saw the gametrailers video. It's looking really fun. Especially with the fact that not all the characters have weapons...fighting with body alone is fun stuff (Regal was cooler...fighting with feet only omgz)

Somehow I'm going to play this. I don't know how currently, but I will play this.

The gametrailers movies looks really cool, I like the fighting system especially. Although it looks like a lot more fighting oriented then RPG, if this is anything like Tales of Symphonia it's settled, I'm getting it asap =p.

Just judging from the videos, and from past experience of SO2, the gameplay is most likely going to be like Tales of Symphonia.

I have seen my cousin playing ToS, and the gameplay is similar but not as close as you might think. It will be more similar to SO2's gameplay, which IMO is the best RPG ever, because of the awesome real time battles and item creation system. However, in a new twist, in addition to being able to kill enemies by draining all of their HP, now you can kill them by draining all of their MP. I think it will be a great innovation, but it will also be very frustrating as if you lose all of your MP, you die also.

The Mp thing is gonna be bitch as items that restore your Mp are usally more rare than items that heal hp =/

Maybe they'll be available equally since MP is not as much of a luxury anymore.

It's nearly impossible to run out MP completely in SO2 even if you try.

By the way, THE BATTLE SYSTEM IS NOT LIKE TOS'S

I've played the game through 2 times (For Both Chars)..And I have RABID MP problems on the last few bosses..(And Rabid Death Problesm too x.x)..Now if you leveled up to 255 beacuse you're friggin obsessed with the game, I'm betting you wouldent run out of MP..but I was at about 105 average when I beat down the final boss for both parties..And both times I burned all my MP restoring stuffs (No "Trickery"..I played through like a non-obsessed person..till I went to the "Cave Of Trials").

Anyways, I'm going to go pick up SO3 in about 2 hours as of now..I've looked at almost every friggin screenshot out there, and the more I look, the better it looks ^^..I'd like to see if the Character Development system is closely tied into SO2, which for me, was one of the draws of the game..

I just started playing SO2

Has a ton of potential but is ruined by a terrible translation. Its alot of fun but yea the parts with alot of reading ruin it.
