Fun things to do with pixie sticks

If your bored and have some money to spend take a 2 liter of cherry coke and 3 pixie sticks. Pour the pixie sticks in the cherry coke, stand back and watch. Me and a few of my friends did this a while ago to see what it would taste like. Its pretty 1337.

It does. I poured a mini pixie stick in a can of Mountain Dew and it wouldn't stop foaming and stuff for about 30 seconds. The stupid thing just keeps going. Tastes a touch weird though =\

Get a huge 64 oz cup from a gas station and pour a big pixie stick in it. That is FUN.

Adding sugar to carbonated water (or carb'd water with other stuff in it, like coke) reduces the water's ability to dissolve CO2. So the Co2 comes out.

Taht was really horribly worded. But I'm sure geniuses like you will understand.

Aren't pixie sticks basically flavored sugar? Thus, wouldn't sugar in Cherry Coke work just as well?

Different materials used for flavouring have different ingredients, thus, different, chemical reactions occur.

I'm guessing it would, but I think putting pixie sticks in would make for a very interesting taste, opposed to a normal sickeningly sweet soda.

This isn't really on topic, but it's important. Referring to afrobean's advice on not snorting pixie sticks, on a side note NEVER, EVER, under ANY circumstances, drink Binaca breath freshener straight from the container. That was 3 years ago and I can still feel the burning in my lips. *shudders*

No. You are so wrong it hurts me.

Its the speed that it is dissolved. Sugar packets are coarsely grounded. So they don't dissolve as fast as say, powdery pixy sticks. Thus, it looks different.

There are no chemical reactions. Its just a matter of solubility.

The gas that comes out is carbon dioxide. Not anything foreign.
