Alright, here's the deal. I was listening to a Cowboy Bebop song, and I'm interested in making a stepfile for it. However, I'm having a few problems and was wondering if anyone could give me a guide into the right direction.
Yes, I've searched around the forums for answers. I've read who knows how many threads on creating simfiles. I've read the stickies. I followed the directions as they were written. Yes, I've tried using XStep and all that other mess. I've made a folder and put the mp3 in it. I made the basic .dwi file with the title, BPM, gap, etc in it. However, when I go into Stepmania to edit it, not only does the song not show up, but neither does the folder that I created. I've tried everything from just putting in random steps so that there would be some for Stepmania to find to none at all. What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advace to anyone who has any ideas. I greatly appreciate the help.

\Stepmania CVS\Songs\I like cock\cock\
In \cock\, you would have cock.mp3 and cock.dwi Make sure cock.dwi is cock.dwi and NOT cock.dwi.txt. |

I did make sure that it wasn't a .dwi.txt
EDIT: I forgot to mention earlier that I'm using Stepmania 3.9 alpha 20
