How do you celebrate the first of May?
Here in Finland we wear fancy dresses and meet our friends. Students and young people get wasted, fight, and nail each other like the end of the world would be coming. First of May (or as we call it, vappu) is the most important day of the year to celebrate if you are a student. We have this kind of culture here that we celebrate the day before, and the actual first of May is just a bank holiday. This works with all of our holidays. Personally I'm sitting at home because I have tonsillitis. At least I have a bottle of whiskey. Tomorrow I'm watching how Finland beats USA in World Ice Hockey Championships.
