This is TOO weird.
There is a 1/50 million chance that a certain particle collider in England (forgot which one...) will create a special type of ultra unstable particle that will KILL ALL LIFE ON EARTH.
How weird is THAT? I got this from a very reliable science magazine. Not bullshit. And there are also chances of different destructive particles being created. Mmm. Science.

1/50 million chance, so are those crazy Brits going to do it 50 million times so they can create it once? Imagine having that kind of destructive power....

Just because it is used 49,999,999 times doesn't mean that it will destroy life on Earth the next time. In fact, I'm sure there are a number of more dangerous things we leave to chance. But worrying about it will shorten our lives anyway.

imagine if you could control the power/energy you could destroy anything or power something that could travel insanely fast speeds or other crazy things like that

We would abuse it and destroy ourselves with it. That's probably why we don't have it.

Why doesn't someone just get four mechanical arms fused into their spinal chord, and then put on some geeky glasses to control the little particle? Err..

You know, something with that destructive power is only considered "safe" at 1/1,000,000,000,000 chance. That is a trillion there.
I didn't make that up either, it was in the article.

They could have put the gobs of money it took to make it to such better uses.
