I'm currently collecting info for my own purposes (which I'm sure you guys can probably guess) so I want to know what features you guys would like to see in a note editor such as StepMania or DDream that doesn't exist at the moment.
For example: - Synergy of StepMania and DDream's advantages - Being able to customize assist tick sound - Being able to customize keyboard shortcuts

Be able to change Xmod (That's NOT just 1x, 2x, and 4x) and Cmod or whatever on the fly through a short cut without having to go into the "player settings".

For me, a note density graph (like the ones in the ffrsongs) would be interesting

Changing the assist tick isn't too hard. Now being able to change theme metrics with Stepmania would be awesome.

I would love to be able to copy and paste specific sections of a file onto another file in Stepmania. I know this is possible in DDReam, but I don't really use that program.
And I'd really like an "undo"/history button in case you messed up your notecharting. I know of no such thing in Stepmania's editor. |

a program that makes ddream users have an uncontrolable urge to immediately dump when they open it up

ok examples:
BPM spike addition, BPM curve addition (linear/parabolic/etc), automatic arrow modification when you double/halve BPM in some sections (ex. 100bpm 32nds -> 200bpm 16ths). and yeah basically what wv said. |

One of my biggest pet peeves is having to sit there for two minutes to make the bpm thing go from 140 to 280 or something for a specific part, not being able to just type in a value. A list of previously used bpms would be cool too, that way you could just select the one you need to change it to if you're doing something with similar bpm changes/tricks in several parts. AH! I have one... make it so that if you change the bpm or add stops to a section the editor will shift your remaining work in the file accordingly to keep them on the timing of the song they were on. Because when you add in a stop and bpm change, it's a pain to have to rearrange the whole rest of the song after, thus you have to make all bpm gimmicks as you go... Along the same lines, if you add bpm changes/gimmicks the remaining bpms/gimmicks should also shift down. Even when you use the compress/expand feature in the SM editor, bpm things don't shift.
