Dont know if anyone has suggested it before.
I think it would be cool to have rate mods for FFR, considering it's really fun to take a song you like and see how fast you can take it. I tend to do it a lot on ITG/Stepmania, so I was wondering if there was a way to implement it here.

It's possible to do, but I don't think it's possible within code inside the engine.
qqwref found a way to rate mod files with a custom SSFFRC converter. |

If it were possible, I suspect it would have to involve disqualification from scoring for the particular file... otherwise piss easy long songs could be shortened immensely while still being incredibly AAA'able, and harder songs could likewise be slowed down (unless rates were restricted to strictly greater than 1.0 or something).
Seems impractical though... it's probably easier to get the FFR version of the file into SM and play with it there. |
