Default HSMP1 Marathon

Inspired by AGDQ, I decided to do a stepmania version and play an entire pack from start to finish without breaks or restarts (pretty much a course i guess but i wanted to see individual scores too). The whole thing took about 2 hours and 15 mins.

Here's the result:
I'm only commenting on scores that were noteworthy lol

So during the left-handed wristjacking that plagues this file, I had to rearrange my hand to minimize cbs and shit (my left hand is stupid). This inevitably leads to alt+tab being pressed and the game, since it's windowed will minimize and i fail by the time i'm able to recover. Watch out for more of these stupid instances.

rip left handed trills lmfao (this is why i never post scores on this)

I can (sort-of) vibrate on this keyboard. It is nowhere near consistent though and I drop lots of misses. I'll have to repeat this marathon sometime with my laptop to improve my dp%

Should've been warm enough by now to AA this but nope i suck rofl

I think this is my PB lol. Got insanely lucky near the end and finished with 11 combo

You'll probably notice at this point that I'm playing these on the highest difficulties (for obvious reasons lol)

I've always been good at this file, this was nice but I can do better

Rapes my old PB. super-clean for me

Pure wrist-jacking, kinda neat to pass it that way

Alt-tab strikes again (excessive left-handed wristjacking patterns do this pretty often to me) This had serious potential to beat my PB

Passed, cool

First and one of only two files I failed during the marathon. Can't vibrate consistently enough on this keyboard.

omg...after the 32nds I was freaking out cuz I only had about 5 cbs from them. Could've been teh urn, oh well the accuracy is sick, only got 2p from the end of the guitar solo to the end of the song. holy fuck this is actually close to DDP O_O

Used to be able to A this, bah

I'll concede that this is really good accuracy for me, rip on the left-handed trills though X_X

Didn't think I'd be able to SDP this, cool

I'll probably get laughed at, but I was super happy to FC this. I have to 8th jump the left handed stuff near the end

I've always sucked at this reality too #shindbadpatterns

Was expecting a bit less cbs but this is still clean as shit

By this point, my wrists were in top shape so this was next:

I have never been able to keep up with the end and for the first time that I actually rape it I manage to hit alt+tab right at the goddamn ending quads that I most surely would have MAd. This really pissed me off but w/e its kind of a hilarious looking score. pretty much nima-like lmao

Yep. alt+tab fail again. Need to find a way around this problem

Haven't actually sat through this file before, what a troll-face ending rofl

I was able to actually keep up for a while (combo). But my left wrist died and i legit failed this one

DP%: 90.892%**

Marvelous - 59383
Perfect - 5577
Great - 1469
Good - 346
Boo - 243
Miss - 1043
OK - 3332
N.G. - 31

Marv:Perf ratio = 10.6:1

**I just realized halfway through calculating the DP% that I'm missing a bunch of files from the pack since I had them already and removed them (i hate duplicates).
Missing from this:

-K8107 (skor)
-Magical 8-bit Tour
-Rabasladabingbong
-reality.wav
-St. Scarhand
-Terminal Strike
-V Heavy Beat Remix

Goddammit..I'll have to redo this sometime, I'll try to get an average of 93% DP overall (AA)

I was quite annoyed by the time I got through Sandstorm -extended- due to the alt+tab shit and my left wrist was tired at this point but finished it anyways.

This should be a thing...what do you think?

blur, Higan Retour, Sharpest oni, System MA just make me lol. I'll never understand how you can get such perfect counts

Interesting concept, it really does suck that the alt+tab thing destroyed some of your runs -- that was actually one of my main nerves on MSWGO when I had an FC run going, haha.

Redownload the pack. Problem fixed.

As for you getting 93% on the whole thing, Skor's vibrajacks and M8BT's trills are really gonna wear you out before you hit Sandstorm, and Scarhand is just a troll with its 24ths. I'm looking more at another 90% for you, or something in that range.

7 on SYSTEM

I'm on my phone and I'm pretty sure everyone heard me scream 'what' lmao

Rest are pretty solid too, though True VGamma kinda blows for you , was expecting around <200p and 50 misses but then again stamina

Thats why excite bike surprised me the most i think lol

@staiain, hmm yeah it's a little sad cuz i definitely dont dedicate this much time to much else besides sleep and my gf and maybe school lol

I will redo this tomorrow afternoon if i've got the time again but with the whole pack

Personally, to fix the alt+tab problem I would just take out the alt keys from your keyboard. You can't hit a key that's not there.

As for these scores, there's so many super impressive ones. I swear to god if you DDP MSWGO...............................

DDP MSWGO definitely looks like it's within his range, that would definitely be one of the best MA scores of the year already right there haha.

Definitely wasn't happy with some stuff in general once again but I really nailed some songs:

This was my first song of the day...figured I'd do this thing without any warm ups at all

Wrist-jacking is STUPID hard without being warmed up so this is weak

Really happy with this considering I still wasn't warmed up

File's literally painful if you aren't warmed up a ton. I guess mirroring would make this 1000 times easier too but real men don't mirror

Cool miss/boo count I guess

Only messed up a small part in the guitar solo and one trill \0/

Much better

I must underestimate my abilities on this file. Got my max combo halfway through this, always thought the highest combo's came from the beginning but nope

This score could support an entire thread but yeah....take a minute to soak that one in
"Technically" this is 6 dance points worse than staiain's wr

4 cbs + a couple greats leading up to the jumps section...really stupid mindblocks but otherwise an insane end-run

Weak score, move on lol

Yup. Alt+tab failed again. Was doing about as good as last time too

Keyboard really bailed on me here, just an awful miss count

DDP IS within range...I had the cleanest 32nds part yet not rushing any part of it, but had an extremely sloppy section (the 32nd triplet part things that are kind of awkward) and that probably spoiled the DDP believe it or not. My end wasn't nearly as tight either

Dammit give me an A

Almost failed rofl

Ugh...could've AAd if not for inconsistent vibrating at the end

Much better MA but sacrificed that for cbs

This run was terrible since I'd forgotten the entire beginning to the file D:

Raped. AAAd the last ~400 notes of the hard section all the way to the end save for a stupid good

Nope. Unlikely that my left hand will keep up at the end again

Alt+tab once again. Screen was minimized for a long time from me getting pissed off rofl

This was a lot more painful than last time so I was worried about True VGamma at this point

Completely forgot about anything from this file. Not bad considering

This was annoying. Alt+tab, although my lifebar + stamina were slowly draining so it's debatable if I would have passed regardless. I was doing quite well this time though, probably since scarhand+terminal strike+V allowed some of my stamina to come back

Fugly score

DP%: 91.88%

Marv - 67537
Perf - 5838
Great - 1557
Good - 359
Boo - 214
Miss - 1060
OK - 3843
NG - 28

Marv:Perf ratio = 11.6:1

AAing the whole marathon is piss easy without the alt+tab misses being factored in + having a good vibrating keyboard would make things a ton easier too.

Maybe I'll try other hard songs megapacks next
