Default I am SICK

...of half the topics in this forum turning into a "discussion" about Stepmania ethics. If a player is bothering to even post a .5x screenshot, then obviously he thinks it's acceptable and saying why you think that's cheating will accomplish NOTHING.

The same thing goes for Cxxx mods. Personally, I think it's acceptable as long as the difficulty of the song isn't influenced by BPM changes (i.e., Gravity). Of course, my opinion of a Cxxx mod is totally irrelevant in a thread featuring such a screenshot, since it would do nothing except belittle the player and deflect attention away from the player and the player's accomplishment! Also, isn't there something in the brag board rules about "Post something useful"? If so, I think ".5x is cheating" and "Don't use C400" fall into direct violation of that category.

My God....somebody wanna tell me why the Brag Board is so fucking difficult anyway? We have more problems here than any other place on the forum by far...and it would all stop if people would think about someone else for a change, instead of their own ethics and their own accomplishments.

I disagree with Moogy.

The speed mods don't change the ammount of arrows you have to hit, when you have to hit them, or the timing.

You can use 2.432522372352352X and I won't say anything.

One more thing:

While we surely appreciate scores coming from alternate or old-school hand positions, please do not put yourself above players in the Brag Board. Really, I think we can stop bashing the four-fingered players just because that's the way they choose to play.

Everyone has the problems of the Brag Board all wrong.

First of all, the way you referred to play styles other than four-fingers was just ridiculous in itself, but there is no "four-fingered player bashing." The discussions for which play style is better/cheap/advantageous is just normal discussion.

Everyone here thinks regular disagreements are horrible. That's just the nature of the board. Who gives a shit? You're all acting like the Brag Board is deteriorating. I don't see it!

All of the attitudes I see on this board today are the same I've seen ever since players have gotten near the level they are now. It just seems worse because there are more people, and these people aren't at the level of skill that the scores in question are being argued over.

The people that complain usually offer no significance to the arguements. The only people I see breaking down other's posts to refute them are the great players. Everyone else complains, says we have no life because we play too much, or just say foolish things.

The members of the board have to get used to everyone else calling BS on people. That's just how it goes around here. Accept it. There's no other way to run a board like this. It's completely fine, and you have all been pussies about it for months now. Who cares if there's some flaming?

Oh and we've already established that CXXX mods are cheap. The perfect example is Gravity; a AAA of Gravity on 2x is worth much MUCH more than one on a C-mod. A C-mod AAA of Gravity is a SINCH, because it's the slow part that gives greats.

One hand scores should count for more, because they're a hell of a lot harder to get than four finger scores.

I agree with moogy... One hand scores are WAYYYYYYYYYYYYY harder to get then 4 finger scores, index scores, or whatever other weird styles are out there... If anyone disagrees with me, you should be shot... (If someone says something stupid like one finger is harder, one finger is still one handed XD )

That's true.
One-handed compared to 2/3/4 finger is like comparing a bar-raper on DDR to a person that doesn't use the bar. AAA on Max 300 no bar is worth a LOT more than one with the bar.
But, you choose to play one-handed or not. If you're going to bitch and complain "I play one-handed, so meh." that's really your choice. If you want to get better scores because other people are shitting on them, then just change to a different playing style.
4 finger is the fastest way to play. Index is the easiest to start out on, and 3 finger is weird O_o
One-handed being the hardest and slowest way, of course.

Yup. Overall though, no one really cares how many fingers you can use.. just as long as you can get the job done.

That sounds dirty whne taken out of context...

Also I look forward to the day when my scores are good enough to be called BS on.

And about the choice of playing: Two handed is easier to be good at. That's all there is to it.

4 fingers = easy mode
2 hands = medium mode
1 hand = hard mode

Any true gamer always plays games on the hardest setting.

Although strangely enough, unlike most games, SM players seem to work their way from the hardest to the easiest difficulties, rather than the other way around.

And yeah, one handed scores are usually a hell of a lot harder to get than they would be with two hands. Whether a one hander could get a higher score by switching to two hands isn't the point. We know we could get better scores if we switched to two hands, but we have more fun this way, so we don't. The point is that a score on a difficult song posted by a one hander is generally a larger accomplishment than the equivalent score posted by a two hander, due to the increased difficulty.

Screw 1 hand.

1 hand isn't as hard as you make it out to be. I could A club easily with 1 hand. Fucking like AA snow at one point.

Now, trying being able to play with every setup

But yea, 1 hand is pretty hard, but so are the other setups. Its just a weaker setup, thats all. Its not any 'harder' to get good at, its just your scores will never be able to beat the best of 2 handed players.
