Forum Suggestion: Auction Subforum
A subforum under the Profiles forum would be handy for this. Also, with the same idea as the Difficulty Debates subforum, probably it would be best if you made it not update the front page.

Re: Forum Suggestion: Auction Subforum
Not sure about the "don't update on front page part" cause people won't notice them mostly, but I do agree with the subforum.

Quote:
Midnight Dragon [10 or 11]? Novo Mundo [10 or 11]? honki sentai majirenjaa [11 or 12]? threads on the front page. I think if someone is interested in spending some of their hard earned Creds on a usertitle power that it shouldn't really be known to everyone. I do understand that people will probably want to know, but they can always refer to the User CP to see if their auction bid was a success or a flop. |

Re: Forum Suggestion: Auction Subforum
Yeah, but those of us who are going to be using it to raise credits for good reasons need people to see it as much as possible..

Re: Forum Suggestion: Auction Subforum
Well I guess it's the staff's choice in the end, but either way it would be nice to have a separate subforum for it.

Re: Forum Suggestion: Auction Subforum
I have to disagree here...
Forums/subforums are created to a degree of permanence and of certain importance. The difficulty subforum for instance was a legit subforum in that we continuously get new songs and inevitably, debates on difficulties will occur time and time again. And of course, difficulties relate to one aspect of the site: a characteristic of the FFR game. On the other hand, I'm pretty sure these auction threads are a temporary fad that will not last as long, nor do they really "reflect" on the site as a topic of actual importance. This is also why there's some hesitation in creating a forum for team threads as well (while teams are longer-lasting than auction threads, they're still shorter-term and supplementary to the site as a whole). |

Re: Forum Suggestion: Auction Subforum
If anything, these auctions should be really taken to the random thoughts hahaha

Re: Forum Suggestion: Auction Subforum
I suppose a single thread can be devoted to auctions, where auction hosts posts their updates/advertises a new auction for people to see. They'd then direct the users to their profile for the auction. I could see that as an alternative to having auctions on random thoughts while finding a way to get people's attention.

Someone would have to be in charge of it (and before Justin comes in here saying he will, you already have so much to update regularly as it is..)

Re: Forum Suggestion: Auction Subforum
I'll be willing to create the initial thread and update it regularly. Although I'm thinking about where the thread should be located. The Profiles forum is one suggestion, considering most people are auctioning off their profiles and related items, although a few people are auctioning off other things *cough* OWA */cough* Also, it seems like most of these people are raising credits to start a tourney, so the tournament subforum is another possibility; although there is the chance people just want to credits just to have more credits. Another option in the chit-chat forum since there is a decent amount of traffic in there and it would better publicize the auction thread . Any thoughts?
