Looking to expand the collection, and last time I made this kind of thread, I had some decent responses (was hosting a rave at that time, and things went very well).

Otographic Music label for some good trance. Youtube only has cut tracks though so you'll have to hunt for download links or buy the albums if you're interested. I'd offer to upload their whole discography but I don't have the bandwidth to expend atm.

+1 to Otographic Music Label
Their older label (Sevensenses Recordings) is also pretty good, see previous post |

as far as electronica goes i've only really been a fan of drum n bass, and Hospital Records has always provided decent tunes. |

I haven't listened to a lot of music lately. But for some reason, I like this old music.

as much as I enjoy the harder styles of edm, I still listen to a lot of trance music
I compiled this about a year and a half ago, but it still contains most of my favorite trance tunes (be it vocal, instrumental, prog) Spoiler is the list of all the songs. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=NZRGXNB6 Armin Van Buuren is still really big, I'd recommend checking out Universal Religion 5. As far as labels go, Anjunabeats (Above & Beyond, Nitrous Oxide, Mat Zo, Super8 & Tab (they collab A LOT))and Armada Music (Armin Van Burren, ATB, Dash Berlin, Markus Schulz, Gabriel and Dresden) are both really good labels.

this probably isn't the type of stuff you're looking for--i'm not a huge trance/techno guy and the stuff i listen to tends to be more insular and less danceable--
but luomo's vocalcity is a great full-length listen, really immersive, and if you're looking for a stand-out track, "tessio" is a good bet. pantha du prince's this bliss is similarly "self-contained". every sound is really precisely engineered even though the album is aurally sparse as a whole. check out "saturn strobe," really gorgeous stuff. sort of sounds to me like mathematical equations being projected onto a screen, or maybe the biology of the human body in action. or whatever. EDIT: samples to peruse (above is slightly truncated for youtube-ness) (seems to be especially crappy quality-wise)

TOTALLY random question unrelated to this thread specifically: Do any of you guys have "bittersweet" favorite songs? Songs that, by themselves, are totally awesome, but they unfortunately remind you of a time in your life when you were not happy for whatever reason?

Each song has its girl. They're bittersweet alright.
