Improving my game.
So I'm at the stage where I can FC medium 8-9s but I can't FC 10s.
I always set my game to Miss 1 Fail. And I'll just hammer through parts of a song until I FC it. There are triple arrow jump streams somewhere in FMOs and FGOs, but what are some earlier songs to help improve my chances of nailing those triple arrows jump streams. And also, I love to wet myself over regular streams, but I can't pick up my speed. Any good songs with regular jumps incorporated into streams? Like AAA and 20032012 (I think I got it right lol) |

Re: Improving my game.
Are you talking about streams with jumps in them? If so, Seven might be a decent chart for you to practice on.
It's hard to practice triples and streams within them because they don't show up in lower level songs -- this is the precise reason why there is such a rough curve in difficulty from getting a perfect score on a 10 and getting a perfect score on an 11 (or 11 -> 12). |

Re: Improving my game.
If you're having trouble hitting triples, you may want to try out the Test Input panel in Stepmania to make sure all the triple/quad combinations work since lots of keyboards don't support certain key combinations.
I don't know too many FFR songs that have triples in 8's or 9's, but I can guarantee that you'll find plenty of triples in newer released Stepmania songpacks like Light Chancellor Pack 3 and Xoon packs.

I'd prefer to just stay with FFR, and I'll try out the songs you all suggested. Much obliged.

Depending on your key setup you might not even be able to hit all triples. In the forum reply window (or notepad, or anywhere else), try hitting all 4 keys at once and see if they all show up. If they don't, you need to switch keys to a combination that can do this.

Re: Improving my game.
The only way ive found to improve your ffr skills is by trying songs that are too hard for you. If you cant FC 10's, then play some 11's and 12's and concentrate as hard as you can. After a while you will go back to the 10s and be like this is easy as hell. This has worked extremely well for me since i was always obsessed with getting better. After i could start AAAing FMOs and SDGing FGOs i started making my own stepfiles that are borderline 13's and playing them. Then when i go back to ffr the songs there seem so much easier. Of course practice makes perfect but the way you practice can make you perfect faster. Always push yourself!

This is how I test my input for 4k and 6k. Too lazy to use Stepmania so here. |
