overall rank is overrated imo.
there's people with 1B+ overall score and they are worse than me (I have only 250 FC's)

I wouldn't whore FFR just to get on a t-shirt.

My rank may look impressive, but it's something I don't really give a shit about it. To me, FFR = fun.

There's always a part of me that thinks that lowering your FFR Average Rank is fun, but I could careless if I can't get SDG avg. rank or rank 1 for that matter.

So don't worry about AAAs. Look at my siggy. I'm actually proud that I have 8 FMO booflags and 9 blackflags, whereas someone who is extremely competitive may interpret my scores as utter crap. TP count is only a number, so I could care less about that too.

Basically, don't stress too much about your rank. Play for fun and get to know people around this site. That is how I view FFR.

I, myself, think I'm pretty good, yet I hardly have any AAA's, and not that many FC's, though my tier points almost outnumber my FC's lol. (Don't even care about getting more of those too)

I hardly come to FFR with the attitude: "I'm going to play these over and over until I don't **** up and try to AAA it" Haven't really been that way for over 5 years, and don't see it happening in the future.

I'll say I'm competitive somewhat, I just don't really give a damn about getting perfect scores.

My old account used to be in the Top 100 range back when I was nearing my peak for speed and jacks, I just played a lot is all, any good scores was an bonus.

Just play to have fun. Simple.

For me I enjoy that plus getting tokens/better avrank. I don't think I will ever aaa anything beyond d7 or d8 songs. Fine with me.
