Graphite Pencil Drawing
Here you go.
A bird and his bird dog. Size :24"x18" Media: HB, 2B, 4B Graphite Pencils 8 hours of work, all done in a single day. I did another of a little girl, but I have come to the conclusion after attempting to make it look real, that I will never do another human form, or at least face. As of now, I hate drawing humans, and so I will stick with things other than people. Humans are obviously flawed. |

Re: Graphite Pencil Drawing
Lol smudge on your name.
This is really good. I wish I had more to say in terms of criticism but I don't. |

ahhh cenright! it looks so good.
the perspective looks a tad off, i can't tell whether the dog is laying or if that is just a background pattern regardless, the texturing and your overall skill with graphite shading looks impeccable. |

That dog looks like he's thinking, "Why has this human been staring at me for hours? It's getting annoying. It's bad enough with the freaking bird not letting me sleep."

Re: Graphite Pencil Drawing
bird looks amazing especially his feet. the dog though not so much. fur doesnt look as good as it could but i dont know what you're capable of since i havent seen any of your other work. i suggest a smudge stick btw would help a lot with blending. the eyes on the dog also seem like theyre lacking detail. overall pretty cool work. makes me want to start drawing more than just sketches heh
btw a 24x18 is ridiculously huge. last time i attempted something like that was when i drew a naruto(lol) picture took me 6 hours with inking and shading. never again

Re: Graphite Pencil Drawing
This was actually my first full size work. I took a beginning drawing as someone who doesn't draw at all, and this was the first time I was actually working on something other than exercises (like a tone drawing of a crumpled up piece of paper).
AsphyxZero, yeah, that was smudge tool in photoshop afterward. makdaddy, I actually had an error trying to get the couch covering done right, and I pulled a little bit out, because just to the right of the bird, there were folds in the fabric, and a complete mess, so there is an 'underneath' part and a 'behind' part. 8 Hour Whore, it was closer to 8 1/2 hours. Who_cares973, there is deliberately NO smudging in this piece of art. And thank you for noticing the feet. |
