What you think is the most beautiful thing can not really be backed up by fact. It is a purely opinionated question. I don't think it should be here, really....

omega... do you realize the error in you thought or do you need me to point it out...

if you were right then 2 + 2 only equals 4 if it was my opinion that it was.

for me personnally life itself is the ultimate form of art due to its amazing complexity and range of variation.

does that explain this topic any better for you all.

*sigh* this seems to be turning into a burn-fest please dont post unless you have something intellegent to say.

why must my threads by poopulated with people who dont belong in a critical thinking forum?

It is true, it is your opinion that 2+2=4.

Think of it this way:

Two dudes walk outside. One says "Brr, it sure is freezing! It must be 30 Degrees or something!"
The other says, "What are you talking about? 30 degrees? I'd say it's 521351 Korgs or something!"

For all you know, what you know as 2+2=4 could mean !+!=Freakazoid to me.

To avoid confusion, we use universally known symbols.

Here's a better example: Two scientists discover a new element. And they ponder, "Gee, what should we call it?"
The first one says "Well, I think we should call it Superflyium."
The other one says "Nonsense, we should call it Freakazoidium!"
And then they both have a heated fight and Freakazoidium wins. Based on the other scientist's opinion.

my god...

yes i know that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. that is not the point, what i want to know is what YOLU find beauty. take your zenness outside and flog it. secondly pxbluesoul, this isnt a spelling contest. go home.

2 + 2 will not ever equeal anything but four. if you take two forum idiots, and you add two more foum idiots, you still have four forum idiots. it doesnt matter what name you aply to the concepts of 2 and four. they will always be there. this isnt about what those simbles we use. its about the simple ~!@# concept of addition. go away.

Life is a beautiful thing, but as a whole, most people do not realize it.

It's the beautiful things within life that we notice.

But then again, I think everything is beautiful.

ironmonc is correct, although beauty is a great deal subjective, aesthetics is the study of that which is objective about beauty, for example, harmonization in music. The complementary behavior of certain colours. Aspect in music or art or otherwise that stimulate parts of the brain in a majority of individuals. etc.

good food, cars, girls, and friends. not necessarily in that order. I chose these because without them my life would be dull, boring, and unlivable in my opinion.

Wow, I was seriously surprised by that reply. From your avatar I've always assumed you were a complete idiot, I was wrong.
I'm glad you caught his stupid mistake and explained the truth.

You are right, IronMonk. I should not have ventured into the land of logic, that is Math.

But disprove my other example.
