As of late, I've been experiencing a very unique sort of blackflag curse.
This has happened to me several times (at least 4 or 5) on almost every song I currently have a blackflag or booflag on. Basically, no matter what I do, if I AAA up to the very end of a song, I will manage to **** it up in the last 100 notes, regardless of how easy the ending is in comparison to the rest of the file. However, if I hit my good prior to the final 100 notes, I will AAA the ending regardless of how difficult it may be in comparison to the rest of the file. To further illustrate this, I made a video: http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...hp?songid=6231 No matter what I've tried, this peculiar phenomenon has been raping me up the ass pretty hard. There's nothing I've been able to do to stop shivering like a little bitch for no reason at the very end of a song when I've perf'd the rest, thus ****ing it up and me lol'ing at life. The only 'cure' I've found for this is to **** something up earlier in the file, but that's basically defeating the whole purpose. tl;dr - FFR is gay wat do |

I've had problems with this kind of thing too (although not to the extent you have) and I think the issue is one of concentration. When you've AAA'd most of a song you go "whoa... I will AAA..." and then you might start thinking about the AAA and kind of celebrating early rather than concentrating on the notes. If you force yourself to concentrate on the notes at the end of the song, and try not to think about anything else, you might not mess up.
Also, I have no clue if this will work for you, but try covering up or screencutting the score and then using your ring finger to press one of the non-gameplay keys somewhere in the song. Maybe that will make you feel like you've messed up and prevented yourself from AAAing, so that you can do the ending. Turning off judgements and covering up the score can have a similar effect, where you don't know if you messed up or not so it's easier to tell yourself that you made an error.

I've tried covering up the raw score, but it really hasn't helped whatsoever. I used to think it was just me celebrating too early, but now I've been going into songs with the mindset that I haven't secured the AAA until I've seen the results screen, and I've still been ****ing everything up somehow.
The ring finger idea though, that actually sounds like it might work O_O Dunno if I'll be able to keep an actual AAA in game while successfully tapping a non-game key for a 'booflag', but I'll definitely try it the next time I play |

Make simfiles of any patterns you are likely to screw up and practice them 24/7 until you could aaa them blindfolded, and then try again

OWA: Try playing with judgment display off? Hide the score?
What I do is mentally convince myself that I've screwed up early on in the file so I don't give a **** about the rest of the file.

I simply can't understand how people mentally set themselves up as if they messed up their run. It doesn't work for me.
I just turn off judgment and screencut the score when I'm going for a serious run--and if I hear a tap that I know isn't anywhere near a perfect, I just stop. |

The alternative is to do what I did -- split up a file into its more difficult components and practice each part separately to perfection. It worked wonders for me.

OWA OWA OWA .... hi5. You are DUE for your first FGO AAA amirite?
I am DUE for my FMO AAA amirite? We should make a club. "those that can't advance ONE level up for a AAA" I really wish I knew what to do :/ I'd have about 4 or 5 FMO AAA's by now if I didn't have the same exact problem you do. :[ |

I have a similar problem but I'm still working on songs that are 2's and 3's, unfortunately. On a song I was playing yesterday I got a good on the second to last step twice in a row before getting it right. I know me posting about difficulty AAAing 2's and 3's is sad compared to all of you. Sometimes, I turn the sound off and just lining the steps up with sight helps me.

Bluearrow's Scapegoat Act has taken a new form. I guess a few weren't so lucky.
