I prefer the arcade-DDR (metal pads). Dance mats are ridiculous in my opinion. The computer version of DDR, whether it be FFR or SM, is an enjoyable music-rhythm game when you don't have access to an arcade metal-pad DDR.

Another good thing about the computer version of DDR is, one such as FFR can give you access to a broad range of high-scores, as well as an accessable forum where you can socialise as well as be part of the community. Not that socialising on the internet is bad, as long as you can control yourself.

EDIT: Ah, I forgot to rate myself. Well, I can play 10 footers, so probably an 8.5/10 would be reasonable?

DDR is <3! I've been playing since I was 9. I'm not the best at it but i'm pretty good. I'm not as good as I was last summer because I was pregnant and that slowed me down a bit. On a scale of 1-10, I'm probably a 7.5 right now >_>

This post rated me as well. I remember back when I started at 9... those were the days.

When Dream Machine was still around, I could get an A on Matsuri Japan. I wish there was a DDR machine around here that is less than 45 minutes away

i pretty much like both dancing and keyboard equally. agree with what destiny said, but im beginning to like dancing more. i have a $200 red octane dance mat, really really well put together. i can hook it up to stepmania on the pc, meaning i can play any song i want as long as i step it so i can barely beat it. i can always put myself at an extra challenge this way, and i even have a custom made metal bar to go with it. ive pretty much got the whole arcade setup, just need the original arcade song packs and stepcharts for more fun ^^

i love ddr, but i dont get to play it as much as i would like. the metal pads in the arcade are the best, but all i have at home are the dance mats, so i use those. i started in high school when my younger sister got me addicted to it. i used to be really good too, but not anymore since i don't play much now. i think im a 5.

I have always been more fond of the good ol fashion original metal pad. I feel more comfortable. And seeing as how i can AAA most of the songs, its a time for me to show off what little light I have. Im only an average FFR player, and get little recognition.

DDR was alright, but from Supernova onwards, it just spiralled downwards.

I could pass all of the songs in DDR. I haven't tried the SN2 boss songs, but I'm pretty confident that I can pass them.

Of course, I prefer ITG only because of the custom songs availability.

I like going to clubs and pretending I'm on a DDR machine when I'm grinding up against tons of hot girls all night.

Real life DDR.

arcade. hands down.

why? cause it has metal pads which are a lot easier to play with. and if you buy a metal pad for your computer, it cost to much.

DDR sucks though. ITG rules.

I just like arcades better because I get an audience there.

Only reason why I still play.
