Default Man takes 26 years to solve...

A Rubik's Cube !

I don't know if i admire his dedication, or think he just extremely thick.

Keep in mind, he probably wasn't all that dedicated. One hour on the cube, 23 more hours of life. Mind you I haven't read the full story yet.

That's just my uneducated opinion

So did he solve it by coming up with his own methods or algorithms? Or just turn it randomly for 26 years.

Spending a few hours every single day of your life for 26 years trying to solve a single rubix cube is true dedication.
The feeling of relief surely wasn't worth all those years though.

You can't turn it randomly for 26 years and solve a Rubiks cube. It would bring disorder rather than order, or complexity rather than simplicity in other words.

I don't know whether he used his own methods or algorithms, or he was stuck on the very last stage of solving the cube for 26 odd years, however I'm sure this would give him a heart attack:

I got my information from this site:

By the way, I found this funny:

I'm not even the best cuber out there and I was able to solve a cube without algorithms in like a week using logic.

Whats your fastest time on a standard Rubick's Cube using algorithms?

He could have called upon the hidden and vague powers of the internet to find the wealth of information he needed on completing this task.

Good job trying to sound smart, too bad you failed miserably.

Over a span of 26 years, it is entirely possible that he turned it randomly and eventually solved it.

Sad Confession: I have had mine for just under two years and I still haven't solved it yet....
I only pick it up for about 20 minutes every month wind up playing FFR.

I never even bothered to try completely solving the cube, haha. I gave up after getting one side the same color.

Yeah, that's all I've figured out how to do on my own. Anytime I try to get further, I screw up the one side I had, so I just stop.

I have a cube on my desk, I like to keep it unsolved.
My cousin solved the damn thing in about 30 seconds.
I got mad, and threw it at him.
He's only 11.
In my opinion, they look better when they're unsolved.

But relative to the topic, grats on letting a colour cube take over your life.
Just imagine all those things you could've achieved instead.. so many buildings.. so little time..

With common sense and observation I learned how to solve one within a week. Now I can do a 3x3 in 10 minutes or less. lol
