Reset Song Button
I think it would be a nice feature to have a button that you can choose in settings to reset the song you're currently playing.
Right now, what you have to do is fail the song and click the Try This Level Again button, but sometimes the arrows start comming so quickly that I don't have time to get my fingers in the right spot. A reset button would make it possible to keep your fingers in the same position and not have to reach over for the mouse. Here's a graphic of what this might look like in the settings: FFR_ResetSetting2.jpg

+1 support. Plus, booing out takes points away from you.

Re: Reset Song Button
Booo.
Hate this idea. Know why? Because I hate the "Ready!" at the beginning that has hindered so many songs. The reason for that was simply to give you time to adjust. Train yourself to get your hands in the right spot faster like everyone else. Hmph.

Re: Reset Song Button
That reason seems like even more of a reason to implement this so that ready thing could be taken away.

Re: Reset Song Button
Yes, but then all those intro-murdered songs would have been for nothing :P

Re: Reset Song Button
I like this idea. Also, another addition to it, some people get ready faster than others; maybe add a counter to determine the amount of time before the song restarts?

(+ (- (/ (* 1 2) 3) 4) 5)

Re: Reset Song Button
I've never had a problem with being ready in time, but I can see how this would be useful to others. +1 support

-Bump-
+1 Support. Great for AAA'ing songs, I was thinking about something like this before. You could always use a macro and put it where the Try Again button is. |

Re: Reset Song Button
Well, there's already FFR-Keymap by MRichards to offer an outside software solution, so making a macro would be pretty useless. The point is to get this functionality in-game.

Re: Reset Song Button
I support because this is more useful than not. I don't ever take too much time adjusting, but occasionally, the songs start faster than I do, so I can completely understand.

Re: Reset Song Button
The functionality that Mrichards used was to make you boo out, it doesn't do anything you can't do by just mashing or taking your hands off the keyboard.
However I very much suspect this will become a "It's this way for everyone, so deal with it" sort of thing. I can easily think of several issues with an "abort the song completely" button with regards to scores saving, and communication with the database that would make this more trouble than it's worth. People have been booing out for years, they can manage. |

Re: Reset Song Button
Hmmm, the only issue I can think of is if the player accidentally hit the reset button and that might mess up their good score on it so far. I guess maybe there could be a problem with the variable counters not resetting back to zero and that might cause the person to get a score higher than a AAA, but I just figured the score would not record since refreshing the page causes the score not to record. I don't know how the database works though, nor do I know how this flash game works. I thought it would be simple to put in when I thought of this.
