Good one handed key setups?
So yeah, I'ma be changing my key configs because the arrows don't let me do hands/quads, so I need to know a good setup that'll still allow me to press 4 buttons at once. Currently trying to get used to SCAW (Left Down Up Right) but I wanna know if there's anything better for me =/. I'm looking for 4 keys arranged somewhat like the arrow keys are, eg. SDAW.
If the the setup setup I have sounds screwed up to you, it appears to me as the arrows do on the screen (SCAW = Down Right Left Up). The pic here can explain it better than I can. Edit: Just realized now that the one I had doesn't work either. Good game keyboard. Edit 2: GNFT works =). I still need something closer though =( Last edited by chirpy13; 09-29-2008 at 06:18 PM.. |

Re: Good one handed key setups?
All I can say is you play One handed really screwed up lol..
I use the arrow keys and I can hit the Hands/Quads just fine. You just have to gallop your fingers. unless your keyboards reaction time is slow and reads it as all the keys being pressed. My suggestion is try what I've given you. |

Open up stepmania, go into test input and screw around with combinations of four keys until you find one that works.

Hands are easy even for 1 handers...
Quads what i do (when I 1 hand) is I use my index (on arrow keys) on left, ring finger on right, and my middle finger going down the up and down. |

Re: Good one handed key setups?
Some keyboard, including my own, don't accept four simultaneous key presses.

Re: Good one handed key setups?
Why do you even need to press 4 keys at once, hardly any songs in this game have that besides vRofl.
Ps my style is jkil( j=left k=down i= up l=right ) It's worked for me for months. O: |

Re: Good one handed key setups?
If you can't hit 4 keys at once then you might run into problems when doing fast patterns, ex if you're doing a jumptrill or a roll and the first two fingers don't lift before the next two fingers press

Re: Good one handed key setups?
There are probably around 10 songs with hands and quads.

Re: Good one handed key setups?
10 out of over 600 songs. (over 700 with tokens)
but still, that isn't a very big amount. :P |

Re: Good one handed key setups?
When the amount of songs you actually play is cut down to around 90 due to the overflow of easy songs, that's a crapload.
