Re: Songs of the Week (Jun. 24, 2017)
I appear to need a global offset of -2 to properly sync the new songs on R^3. Can anyone confirm this? It's most noticeable on the first note of Phantom Of The Opera.

I also think PWRPFF RAVES is slightly underrated. I think it's more in 63-64 range. Edit: oh, the cutoff for FMO is 70 now. I wonder if that's going to affect rating in the 65-70 range somehow. Last edited by Hakulyte; 06-24-2017 at 09:17 PM.. |

On the topic of offset: The more data gathered, the better we can standardize offsets on the releases.

-2 offset has been default for files from halfway through the previous OT and onward

Re: Songs of the Week (Jun. 24, 2017)
Phantom chart was good, difficulty was appropriate for it - I've been playing a lot of songs from the 50s-60s lately for AAAs.
PWRPFF is pretty unrelenting in its steps, but they are pretty straightforward. Due to the speed and density alone though, I get the feeling like it's more of a 64. |

Thank you everyone for your feedback this week. I have adjusted the difficulty of PWRPFF RAVES from 60 to 64.

Re: Songs of the Week (Jun. 24, 2017)
What does it mean if I do better on a song of a higher difficulty than from a song of a lower difficulty? I am comparing between PWRPFF RAVES (64) and Szerencsetlen (69). Is the difficulty level based on how a spread-style player would perform on it?

Re: Songs of the Week (Jun. 24, 2017)
Yes, difficulty on FFR is scaled by the difficulty to AAA for a spread player. There are a very small selection of higher difficulty songs that lend themselves better to a one-handed or index playstyle.

I've been saying since the end of the last official tournament that songs since the end of the tournament have needed a -2 global offset to be on-sync, and is only an issue within standalone and happens across all versions of standalone last I checked.
