MarioNintendo's quest to get good
Well I truly suck at this game, compared to you guys. Although I've been playing for a while, I still seem to be stuck in the same "average player" zone. So here begins my quest to become truly great.
The scores you're about to witness are nothing spectacular, but it really helps me in general to get people behind me for motivation and for tips. As of this writing, I have 43 AAA's and 754 FC's. My PA sucks balls, my nerves are erratic, and I can't stop blinking or jump splitting. It doesn't help that my key setup is basically left-handed (left up -- down right), which makes "1313" and "2424" trills one-handed for me. Here are some scores I got tonight, to get this thread started. That fucking good was bullshit. ugh nerves fuck my life asd;lfkja I can't AAA I hate myself so, remember kids nerves *pissed* le rage meh I can AAA this. I know I can. I just got so mad from getting random goods and boos that I ended up pressing restart without saving the score. So here's my last attempt for tonight, which is by far the worst: Last edited by MarioNintendo; 01-24-2016 at 03:09 PM.. |

Re: MarioNintendo's quest to get good (WIP)
Needs more Submission Rules AAA. I'm having a hard time telling how good are certain scores because your playstyle literally alter the charts themselves. I can't tell if you're screencutting or not either. If you're not I suggest you try to move up the speed a little like up to 2x~2.3x. May help reading a little on R3. Good scores in general, feels a tad inconsistent, practice will definitely help too.

Re: MarioNintendo's quest to get good (WIP)
ok. ok this is just
ok ok wow. ok shit ok omfg. It's 4:02 in the morning. I can't sleep. I say to myself, well, I could practice ffr, maybe post some scores. I want to clean up Twinklesky because I think I can grab the AAA. I got an 8-0-0-3, a 3-0-0-0, a 2-0-0-0, a 1-0-0-0.... and the restarts numbers were getting ridiculous, I think they were around 90. I played the song for two hours straight. I said to myself well, this session sure is cursed. Can't stop mindblocking over the same easy jumpstream. Turns out, I didn't even AAA the damn thing, so I changed songs. Made an incredible amount of trollishly-good sightreads, I don't even remember on which ones at this point fuck. I wanted to open stepmania because I was mad at all these close-to-but-not-quite-AAAs and then I decide it's a good idea to alt+f4 instead of alt+tab gg lost all the screenshots except this one: . This session was cursed alright, mfw. Last edited by MarioNintendo; 08-6-2014 at 03:08 AM.. |

Hey, nice to see you get back into this game!
Just remember that as you continuously practice and play more FFR, your skills will grow. And I can see the improvements with each file you play. Keep it up. You're doing great.

Re: MarioNintendo's quest to get good (WIP)
gratz on {Midnight} unlock :/
pro tip: Instead of playing songs you can score on, play songs that you can't score on. It will make the songs you're currently whoring easier, and you won't develop mindblocks on them. I know at this level of skill, it's easy to develop mindblocks and hard to overcome them.

Re: MarioNintendo's quest to get good (WIP)
It's certainly within your capabilities, however if you can do ONE trill, go play Minute Waltz V2. You like piano songs so I know you can handle the varying BPM of most the song and then you seem to be OK at trills so once you practice that you should be pretty golden. Even then like the rest of the file is a VC in comparison.
