Default Any good Steam games worth getting?

I am in a gaming mood

I see Rise of the Triad is super cheap right now -- any good?

I haven't played Rise, but if I recommend these on steam:

- Stanleys Parable (short game, and cheap. really fucking funny)
- Civ 5 (If you plan to never have friends again, play this game)

I've beaten Antichamber -- it was a lot of fun (prolly one of the few games I've legitimately enjoyed in recent years)

Might have to check out Stanley's Parable tho -- what's the premise?

EDIT: Who am I kidding? Just bought it lmao

its premise is, you're stanley, a worker who pushed buttons and stuff, when all of a sudden, everyone disappears. you go on a journey, narrated /really/ well and cleverly, and it's...full of choices.

i also got it, i enjoyed the hell out of it
and I also picked up "Papers, Please", and that's been brilliant, as well as "Fez", which I'm not too sure I want to get into, it feels too slow-paced for a platformer to me

Already beaten Fez but I actually really enjoyed that one -- lots of Myst/Rivenesque secrets to uncover

I bought Fez as well. I haven't played it yet though.
I check every 8 or so hours for the new deals to see if I can find anything interesting.

Rogue Legacy (Roguelike-Platformerish)
Dungeons of Dredmor (Roguelike-Dungeon crawling/rpg)
FTL (Roguelike- Ship v Ship/Space combat RTS)
Dishonored was fun, disappointing for the full price I paid but <$10 totally worth.
Super Hexagon (arcade/reflex game, like spin it up, under $1)
Trine 2 Complete Story is $2, very worth it if you like simple story driven puzzle/platforming
Sequence is $1.24, if you haven't played this get it
Soundodger+ is 50% off, fun little dodgy music game, level editor is fun

Antichamber is fun, Q.U.B.E. is another decent puzzle game but the controls can be annoying later on

If you thought amnesia the dark descent was too hard/scary, machine for pigs is an softer game with a similar experience.

Sleeping Dogs is super fun (If you like open world games like GTA, but in Hong Kong with karaoke)

Civ 5/Rome 2 are must haves if you like those kinds of games (Long- City/Empire building)

Cloudberry Kingdom if you like games like Super Meat Boy (infinite levels, story mode has over 300 handcrafted levels but is literally unbeatable)

Space Chem if you like more puzzle stuff

I bought most of these at full price and with one exception, was very happy with the purchase. At these prices, just do it.

Got Trine 2 -- it's virtually impossible to turn stuff like that down at that price

Sequence actually didn't like -- odd considering what site we're on atm and everything

Super Hexagon <3

One of my current favorites is Risk of Rain.

Binding of Isaac is great too.

I bought the AVGN game and it was pretty damn good. Ridiculously hard though.

For some reason (in spite of the fact I enjoy FPS games plenty) I never got into CS much... Couldn't really ever pin why though

Your "bias" confuses me because CS: GO is the worst version of counter strike released to date! However, because ive been playing CS since 1.6, i decided to start playing after i bought it on the winter sale.

I started playing a week ago(Friday the 3rd to be exact), and im already ranked gold nova 2. When my computer hardware shows up on wed, ill be streaming it every night.
--

I really enjoyed playing Dust: An Elysian Tail, between the graphics and really flashy movement. It can become very addicting. Its about 12-15 hours long, and a really nice play through.

I also picked up Bleed. Dont know what to think about it, its not addicting, but really interesting and super hard at the same time.

Obviously my CS:GO time, I was looking for a break from LoL. And i have another friend who wanted to try it out. Ill be grinding ladder for the next month or 2 depending on how long i stay interested.

I really want to try that game, it would be most helpful if someone could give feedback on it before i buy it.

I was pretty sure the consensus said that GO was better than Source.

Meh. 1.6 fanboys will never be pleased.
