for PFUDOR, even though this doesn't matter too much, (addressing Dossar)
I stepped the vocals simply because the file would have been stupidly boring otherwise.

i agree with other song judgments but for five karots seriously

– even the jumps are a lot for a mellow song like this. Even then the hi-hats are barely audible so if you’re going to step them then 16ths should not be stepped. The file’s difficulty calls for a very easy file but the hands and the 16ths are too spiky. [-3]

how does this equate to a -3? the song falls into the chosen difficulty range with mellow 8ths and very few 16ths @ 135bpm at one or two points in the file that have nice patterns
just so i dont get bottom paged
really want to know if -3 makes sense for putting jumps in an easy song
god forbid i put a few 16ths 232 or 434 parts at 135bpm

Reading For Days: 10/7.5/6
Taking Wing: 7.5/6/5

Shame Taking Wing didn't get in. I'll adjust that song via your notes. Thanks for the critique on the second half there. I now know how to step that better.

As for Reading For Days, I'll make some minor adjustments, but I really like how the file stands. I will take the notes into consideration though.

Thanks judges.

heres my notes for what i managed to judge

32A5 (DarkZtar) - repetitive. lacking in most aspects 6/10

Ame no odoriko (asha remix) (Silvuh) - make all 32nds either 123 or 432 rolls so that theyre easier to hit 8/10

Ascending Hands (DossarLX ODI) - terrible song choice for something that a beginning player is suppose to be choosing as one of the first songs they play. 6/10

Atop The World (VisD) - overly technical. turn some of the jumps into singles and get rid of pretty much all the accent notes and snap what you can to 4ths 8ths or 16ths 6/10

bluebird (Silvuh) - Alternate the 48ths so that its 48ths and 24ths that way its easier to read and time. 7/10

Cascata (DossarLX ODI) - nice i guess 7/10

Chaoz Impact (Sweet Angel) - seems like you have trouble deciding what it is you want to follow while still staying within difficulty. this has a bit way to go before id say i can accept it. theres a better way to make this file fun while still keeping it easy 6/10

Crucial (VisD) - remove jacks and stop stepping at 141.36. the rest of what you stepped is pointless 7/10

Distant Shots (mi40) - start stepping at 26.65 and cut the song so that it starts there. 8/10

For Five Karots, the -3 is that entire paragraph collectively. The piano overpowers the hi-hats and introducing the percussion a little later would be more effective. And yes putting hands to that soft of a song is definitely overkill, but that is not solely -3 points. The 16ths to the hi hats is just very uninteresting considering the piano overpowers it by a lot and the piano is more fitting to step in this case.

If I have huge paragraphs, then yes, the negatives are the entire paragraph collectively; I just decided not to do -2 and -1 for those cases etc.

but your overkill comment is not objective judging at all
to YOUR definition of easy files it may be overkill but no other judges have mentioned anything about difficulty issues or a problem with me stepping the hihats

five karots isn't just a piano song, it has very prominent drums and hihats that create the mood of the song, i'm not sure what you're trying to get at here
the song is what it is because of the hihats and drums that compliment the mellow piano, and if i were to ignore the more prominent hihat / drum sections then well fuck, i shouldnt even have stepped five karots at all

any other issues with the file like layering and PR issues then i'd say "yeah okay -3 i get it" but lol, difficulty issues for a 250 note song in an easy batch, nice

By the way Anaru, if I for any reason screwed you on Distant Shots (didn't check the other ratings), please have someone else judge it, haha.

Feel free to make a harder chart, I honestly don't know any way to make a good file out of this thing, I just figured I'd make something freeform and easy for people who like the song . If you can make something proper go for it. I don't think it's possible (see notes for Shout 2k lol)

The only plausible solution I can consider is accenting the power guitar riffs as jumps, but it would make the file very heavily layered. *shrug*
