No seriously though it was kinda retarded. It's a good change to lower the speed even though in my heart of hearts I want to see everyone suffer

Re: Hard Song Special Batch - Submission Open
24th streams at 200bpm for many many measures = dead lol
UNLESS the patterns are smooth, which last time iirc, weren't |

Re: Hard Song Special Batch - Submission Open
The patterns in Rave7 were NOT friendly, holy crap, I remember fluking a beast run on the 32nds and it had to do with a bunch of jump combinations. Definitely not stream friendly at that rate
As 24ths, it would be much better - the trills in between were also pretty hard. |

And I made the patterns nicer too. And yeah Dossar I realize the patterns in the original SM file were total AIDS. They're not nearly that bad anymore, and 25% slower too. The whole original file was just hilarious, that's why I wanted it in FFR lmao Either way talking about it isn't going to accomplish much, the judges will see soon enough >:)

Re: Hard Song Special Batch - Submission Open
Sounds awesome !_!
This is the most interesting type of batch since we haven't had a hard song event in ages. The one way back in 2008 was full of mainly boring files, so I think now steppers have gotten past those 3+ minute 16th streams/JS type files that had a few bursts in between. |

Re: Hard Song Special Batch - Submission Open
Hey YOSHl, I've checked your posts and nowhere does it say that you've taken Excite ~OMG~ Bike out of the regular batch. That song will be judged for the regular batch...and remember, we need completely new files for the hard batch that does not derive from that regular batch.

Re: Hard Song Special Batch - Submission Open
Only difficulty restrictions for hard song batch I can think of,
0 framers - auto-reject 1 framers - mark-down factors unless they are quite reasonable 2 framers and up - no problem |

Re: Hard Song Special Batch - Submission Open
My chart is okay in some parts but blows nuts in other parts, I totally agree it needs a v2.
Hopefully with lots more of the minijacks stepped, and more hands! (hands weren't allowed in FFR back then)

Re: Hard Song Special Batch - Submission Open
the original rave 7 was cool with the 200 bpm 32nds (the patterns werent that bad sissies), 24ths aren't even worth my time... i guess thats why i play stepmania :/

Re: Hard Song Special Batch - Submission Open
Just to clarify, can I fix up Xanthystrauma and send it tonight for the hard batch (considering usually batches are a month apart, this technically shouldn't be a problem, but I guess I should still ask)?

Re: Hard Song Special Batch - Submission Open
I'll be re-releasing it for SM with the updated sync and slightly less retarded patterns in the near future. It'll still be waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay harder than the version I made for FFR though lol

Re: Hard Song Special Batch - Submission Open
Well, finished the final file. FREEDOM DiVE by Xi.
There are SOOOOOOO many sounds in this song, I could have easily made it a pure jumpstream dump even icyworld would be proud of, but I tried to exercise some restraint and have a little bit of variation. It was very hard to choose what jumps to step, there's lots of bell echoes that are loud enough to hear and maybe loud enough to be worth a jump, but I chose not to step them. Hopefully the judges agree with my decisions. To be honest I feel like this song was almost too much for me to handle; it was quite a challenge to step this song and I'm not sure if I'm 100% happy with the result, but deadlines are deadlines p.s. multi colored hands \o/ p.p.s. there was this cool thing where the song's BPM is 222.22 and the file had 2222 notes, but then I had to add some so it didn't work out. Oh well.
