I still think the 48th jumptrill walls on -+ are unnecessary and a 32nd long burst would be more interesting to play. Anyway, all the charts were cool.

also I encourage rating discussions for both Chaoz Japan v2 and -+ in this thread because seriously wtf

I put Chaoz Japan v2 as high as I could without giving Scarhand (I don't think it should give it, despite being harder to AAA than many low FGOs)

Ok, time to do some reviews.

-+: This file was interesting and I had lots of fun playing it. The tricky bursts at the end really made the file what it is.

Chaoz Japan v2: I personally didn't think a v2 was necessary for this song and that v1 was better and more fun to play. For me it felt like minijacks that are barely onbeat and a crapton of dumpstream near the end.

Mellann: This was my favourite file this week. It felt easier than a 70 to me, though. I'd definitely play it again.

I agree with Chaoz Japan, don't think it should be 79.

I think it's fine as a 78, could go one point lower, but definitely agree with the placement there.

What, maybe it's the community bias against jacks, but Chaoz Japan seemed actually too easy to be a 78, especially given it's only one and a half minutes long. Even the ending don't justify it.

Structurally speaking it's VC/FMO for 90+% of the file, but those jack spikes towards the end are mid FGO material and will definitely ensure a pretty damn low AAA count (I don't think it will reach 15+ anytime soon)

So...yeah, somewhat torn on where it should go

Gonna bump Mellann down to 68

Personally, I think -+ should be bumped down, unless I'm just insanely good at BSing that 48th whatever, lmao.

Chaoz Japan feels closer to either a high 76 or low 77 to me. It depends on how much of the difficulty you base on FCing and AAAing. FCing it seems pretty doable for me, and I'm pretty ass at jacks.

Fun charts this week though, liked all of them a lot.

Mellann was really fun, but should be lowered to a 67-68, definitely not a 70.

-+ I'm too bad at to really give a specific number on.

Edit: oh you already got mellann lol
-+ after another couple plays seems pretty good at 83.

I still think lvl 68 is too high, it feels rly rly easy Most of the bursts are just rolls and some easy jacks/thrills I think 65/66 would be good..

Everything about Chaoz Japan v2 feels easier than Piano Etude (Gymnastics) with its jacks, so I'd say 77 (even though Time To bmah is also more difficult imo).

Mellann feels a lot trickier than a 68 but I claim the same about Undiscovered Colo(u)rs (only a 67 like how).

-+ is hilarious because those walls are overwhelmingly jumptrillable and you just need the speed for it. It's like I Hate The 80s on steroids, yet I don't think they should have the same rating because 80s is tricky for other reasons while -+ is only tricky because of them (and anyone who has issues with the spin 32nd wall should get a jorb). I'd say as low as 81, but it'd probably end up being an 82 because that's where all these files like to die anyway.

Anyway they were all fun and I'm glad the HAELEQUIN team struck again.

If its harder to aaa than files where you have to aaa to unlock scarhand, it should also unlock scarhand.

Somebody in here said something about gymnastics which is fine i guess if gymnastics jack section wasnt underrated as well.

Sort of reminded me of ERB with a section thats a little slower hardkore atomic. Since those are 81 and 83, id say chaoz japan is at least 79.

just played Chaoz Japan; son of a bitch, that chart is rough.

This might be my weakness in jacks talking, but I'm thinking that it should be a Scarhand get personally (and I'd have no problem with it being 79-80). Then again, I just woke up from a nap, and saw this talk and had to see why people were saying what they were saying.

EDIT: nvm, 78 is quite alright actually lol

Since when did I still have files in the queue lmao

Fucking sweet though. I prefer the original harder version of chaoz Japan than the watered down version in FFR :weevil:
