Re: 10th Official FFR Tournament
Staple on Smile is definitely the most relentless file out of every 95 out there, but I personally feel that it's the easiest to PA, at least compared to its intensity. Files like Rave 7/HI/Metro are nowhere as demanding, but definitely hard to PA. It'd be odd for SoS to be categorised with Rave7/Heterochromia Iridis personally, but I could see those being the low 95s. I really really don't understand how Metro is 95 at all though, if anything I think Staple on Smile and Metro should be 96 instead. Metro is noticeably more demanding than Rave7/HI and far harder to PA not only due to burst/jack difficulty, but also length. Metro/SoS and Rave7/HI have too much of discrepancy to really be categorised personally.
97 is out of the question because SoS is not hard enough to really be differentiated by two levels. SoS's aggression is too short-lived for it to be a 97. tl;dr why the 1-99 system is atrocious and why we should go back to 1-13 (or at least, 1-25 with the 1-13 system as a secondary) Last edited by EzExZeRo7497; 11-14-2014 at 04:50 AM.. |

Re: 10th Official FFR Tournament
iirc, SoS felt easier than Hetero when I played them.

Re: 10th Official FFR Tournament
Just put it under 97 & move on.
There's no 97's in-game, it's harder than 95's, and metro is heavily stream-biased. SoS is literally an easier version of RATO, given the walls aren't as dense, and there aren't gung-ho retarded jacks, but it's longer. also luis hasn't aaa'd yet. Re: 10th Official FFR Tournament
The reason for switching from 1-13 to 1-99 in the first place was because 1-13 was atrocious, so what is apparently atrocious now?

I don't see how Metro is heavily stream-biased. It has far more than just streams, the streams aren't the hard part at all. Quote:
Honestly I feel that it'd be better to have a 1-25 scale mainly because the main issue with the 1-13 difficulty scale is that it's not detailed enough. A 1-25 scale would make the 1-13 difficulty a little more detailed, but not detailed enough for most players to feel that a file is underrated/overrated by a point unless the file is either very advantageous/disadvantageous towards their skillset. Re: 10th Official FFR Tournament
Yeah, I agree with this, but it would be funny to have a 1-25 scale because that's how most games scale their songs (well tbh I've mostly seen 1-35 as the song scale for certain rhythm games). Either way, the 1-99 scale is too complex to read "the perfect difficulty" for the file, but going down to 1-25 would lead into having those Low and High difficulty files in that range. Determining difficulties has to be one of the hardest things about songs it seems, but that might just be how I see it

That being said, SoS + Metro are 96s now and this helps my 'have difficulties approximate a normal distribution' project so no one mess it up ok great thanks Last edited by One Winged Angel; 11-14-2014 at 10:05 AM.. |

Re: 10th Official FFR Tournament
i see you also just bumped party 4u -holy nite mix- from 98 to 99 right now
is it just because you can say you've personally aaa'd a 99 or something edit: also means there are no 97s or 98s in game so that screws the point of having a 1-99 scale if you don't use all of it

Re: 10th Official FFR Tournament
yes because p4u is a 99 in the same way DP and RATO are both 99s and I want to be able to say I can hit files at that caliber just as accurately (ur an idiot)
p4u never should have been 98 to begin with, and with r8's song being introduced next week, I'd prefer that 97 and 98 aren't diluted with 'joke' songs |

Re: 10th Official FFR Tournament
if you'll quit at Bolt Thrower being put as a 98, you might do worse to yourself when you realize that Bolt Thrower in a Chinese Restaurant legitimately breaks the 1-99 scale (as in, it's too high of a file to be contained at 99 legitimately with Vrofl no longer in that part of the metric).
