A final update as I finalize the Spreadsheet:

Group X moved from Conditional to Blanket. Permission states they're ok with anything, but would prefer if-possible to be sent a link. Also updated the wiki with their website.

Highly Contagious Music moved from Blanket to Limited: Cannot use DJ mixes, so nothing from Mixcloud, the MIX-ON compilations, or the OG Jungle Rockas mix.

It Prevails moved from Blanket to Limited as permission derived from Rise Records.

Speedcore Worldwide Audio moved from Limited to Blanket: choof contacted the label and obtained blanket permissions, updating the limited permission.

Ivoryline moved from Blanket to Limited as permission derived from Tooth & Nail Records.

Leroy Watkins Jr. moved from Blanket to Limited: Is a Creative Commons use, and assumed blanket based on a very old usage of 1 song currently in-game.

Unwritten Law, Cellador, and DJ Nubbin changed to 2/5 "IN-GAME ONLY" until further notice. EnR posted as blanket to thread in v2, but without proof saying they'd post links later. Turns out, they only contacted the musicians. They released an update on their own thread 4 months later saying that out of the batch of mails sent, they only received a response from Masterplan, and then proceeded to mark all of their permission gets as verified blanket both in the OP of their thread, and never posted updates to the main blanket threads. Meaning, we've got No Response from these musicians, and those generally mean Rejection status. Masterplan status remains untouched, and The Berzerker permissions were obtained from xqsite days.

Miss May I moved from Blanket to Limited, permissions derived from Rise Records & Their Widget song.

MxPx moved from Blanket to Limited, permissions derived from Tooth & Nail Records.

Flobots rediscovered as Blanket, 4/5 by DrugstoreCowboy.

Uncle Outrage rediscovered as Blanket, 5/5 by DJ_Swabber. EDIT: noname put this down in the OP as "Under Outrage", which was incorrect. Everything else is fine though.

Retard-O-Bot moved from Blanket to Limited. Permissions strictly stipulate only using music on a specific album, not blanket.

Sane moved from Blanket to Limited. Specifically mentioned in v2 thread (as their last post on forums), that they shouldn't be a blanket permission nor were they ever one, because they prefer control over their music. Rectifying by making this permission a Limited with a "Contact musician for any song use" stipulation.

SecondChance / ice moved from Limited to Blanket. Permission evidence says "any and all songs can be used", which is pretty blanket.

Uncanny Planet Records Label permissions rediscovered as 5/5 blanket, by iPatcH. This includes Blanket permissions for Ugress, Gisle Martens Meyer, Nebular Spool and Gnosis whom were not documented in any thread. Ninja 9000 and Shadow of the Beat were documented, but their permission status were previously unknown.

Sherry Kim / Fantasiex3 / yukino120 moved from Limited to Blanket. Can use all of their music according to stipulations, they just only have a YouTube at the moment (at the time of permission get).

Shonen Samurai moved from Blanket to Limited; Permissions derived from OverClocked Remix. They've only ever worked on "Lover Reef", which is already in-game.
Zaghurim moved from Limited to Blanket; Reached back out to the musician after a decade and a half by kommisar warranted in blanket now.

Suzumebachi moved from Blanket to Conditional; According to original permission gets via StormKlowd61 via OCR thread, they want to be notified of songs other than Black Wing Metamorphosis is used. Unless that is, OverClocked ReMix permissions apply.

The Almost moved from Blanket to Limited as permissions derived from Tooth & Nail Records.

Elemer moved from Limited to Blanket; Permissions stipulate wanting us to use the song "Adrenalina" but we are not by any means restricted to only using that song.
The Classic Crime moved from Conditional to Limited as permissions are derived from Tooth & Nail Records.

The Cynic Project / Cynicmusic moved from Conditional to Blanket; Removed the requirement to contact them as their concern appears to be related to collaborations remixes and works that involve more than once musician which they can't provide. Everything else should be ok to use.

Thousand Foot Krutch moved from Blanket to Limited as permission is derived from Tooth & Nail Records.

Underoath moved from Blanket to Limited as permission is derived from Tooth & Nail Records.

The Spreadsheet for the v9 Permissions Thread is now in a condition where it can be publicly utilized and referenced.

Things on the to-do list (in approximate order):

>Anything that is '4/5' or lower in P-Level needs Commenting, linking to the last-known trail or update on the permission.

Anything that is '5/5' needs the proof & screenshots uploaded to FFR the website itself, so they aren't lost unless FFR literally goes bye bye, and then Commented and linked back to their row.

Need to finalize & set in-stone Rule Changes which have been heavily neglected over the years because copyright is a finicky subject and not everyone knows how any of it works.

Wiki needs massive updating, as permissions no longer reflect noname's posting about permissions for a large number of musicians.

Input an update system that allows people whom wish to reach out for permissions the ability to submit row-for-row into the Spreadsheet for approval & integration, while also setting in-place settings & options for Staff to continue the Spreadsheet if updates drop off.

The v9 thread needs to be structured, organized and created with the Spreadsheet in-mind.

You will notice that the biggest / largest change (and arguably the most exhaustive), was that there was a list of permissions for v8 thread that needed to be checked, was missing information, details were unknown, or straight up did not explain the intricacies of each permission nor knew the source of many permissions. v9 aims to correct and fix all of this, so that it's either resolved, or properly managed so that it's not abused, along with explanations and reasons for every musician, with each entry being individually investigated, graded and verified for accuracy.

With that biggest hurdle out of the way, a lot of the work still needing to be done is finalizing some of the systems / write-ups to go with the v9 thread, linking to sources and hosting permission proof, and then finally organization and posting of the v9 thread.


I do implore you, that if you are trying to look for permissions and you are unsure of where to look, start with this Spreadsheet. It is the most up-to-date information on what FFR has for permissions. The 'v9 addendum' portion of OP's posts will contain the link for this Spreadsheet, as well as the very top of the first post in this thread. I'll keep working towards the goal of releasing a v9 thread in the meantime for people whom prefer doing searching on FFR's Forums.

　・Reimei (Kagetora specified really wanting this in-game directly.)

After a thorough discussion with Velocity over the Riot Games permissions, legal Jibber Jabber, and their Riot Music Safe-Content Guidelines, we are lifting the ban on Riot Games content that can be used to the content listed on their "Creator-Safe Playlists" on SoundCloud, available at:

Please note, that any & all music released under Riot Games permissions MUST be on one of the above lists. K/DA and True Damage are still banned from being submitted.

Also, this prohibits content submitted this way to exist on the "Apple Store or Google Play Store unless they have either a written license agreement from us or a valid Riot API key and comply with our API Terms and Policies". Therefore, if there was ever to be a release on said platforms in the year of 21xx, content submitted this way would be filtered from being played or accessed on downloads provided on those platforms.


Edit: We've went ahead & gotten a valid Riot API key, and checked their literal 260-page document for API Terms and Policies (THANK GOD ACTUAL LEGAL PAPERS). We don't see anything mentioned about music, so we think we're in the clear and the last point is null.

Riot Games, if you are reading this, PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD UPDATE YOUR LEGAL JIBBER JABBER PAGE TO INCLUDE MUSIC AS ITS OWN SECTION. it's nice to incorporate the situation of "streamers" and "content creators (gesturing at YouTubers)" into your legal code, but it is still very vague on terms and conditions of non-profit and non-commercial projects specifically involving music aside from the listed intellectual properties where-as music is not mentioned.

Your images just broke and it's been less than a month since submitting them lol. Goes to show you can never tell how long proof of permission will exist for.

They were made known that people have gotten permission for single-use songs for free from Umeboshi in the past prior to this decision. So, this is being treated as a reject on their other content and the details added to the permission spreadsheet.
