Re: jTWG
hey cool we are on the same page :gong:
not sure if there would be enough to fill these games without some experienced players joining. my thinking was to instruct vets who join to not be blabbermouths. but if there are enough new people to fill these games, then that sounds great. we can always give it a test run. |

Re: jTWG
then stick to nine player games if we don't have enough - I don't think having me in a jtwig and telling me to tone it down is going to help. Instead, I'd rather be asked questions on slack regarding what's happening and maybe give advice on the side and let the new players duke it out on their own. If there's a numbers problem they could always play our games. If there's a numbers problem build 9 player games. Don't throw experienced players in the mix if you're going to segment the playerbase by offering two types of games because then it becomes NO DIFFERENT than having the jtwig games being offered in the game voting thread without segmentation.

Re: jTWG
I wanna hear from newer players.
jTWG trial run, yes or no? would you be interested in playing a (very) small game with a roster comprised only of newer players? is there any game setup which you would like to use? if there's a jTWG, would you like to receive some coaching? |

Re: jTWG
are we going to tart recruiting players from tgb and cc? That'd be nice. A monthly recruitment game for new players and people who aren't yet confident for whatever reason

Re: jTWG
I was under the impression that nonjtwig players wouldn't play and would coach on the side, private groups sort if thing, red team gets one, blues get one each. Whoever else we can spare for individual greens. Coach list isn't public.

Re: jTWG
coaches sign up privately, assigned by the host. Honor code because as soon as someone knows who is partnered with whom the game kind of dies on the spot. Especially if we're prioritizing coaches for special roles.

Re: jTWG
not much time has passed, but my early impression is that the numbers aren't really there for this to happen. I think a one-off could be a great idea if there's ever a sudden influx of new players who are interested, but right now I'm only seeing like 2 at most.
if someone knows of a bunch of people who would wanna play in one of these, plz let me know |

Aw shucks, I'd love to play a game of TWG! Never played it before, but it'd be fun to play!

Re: jTWG
the difference between TWG and jTWG at this point is that one of them has an extra letter in front.
Maybe some people play differently in one than in the other, I certainly don't. Its pretty clear people are interested in this, so maybe instead of a turbo this time around, we run a jTWG of Matrix6 or something and see what happens.

I find jTWG more diplomatic than the hectic normalness of a regular TWG, especially with the TWG community here being a tight-knit group, everyone is familiar with everyone I used to change my playstyle for jTWGs but I believe you said it earlier at some point that veterans shouldn't because nobody holds back in an actual game. jTWGs imo are perfect for new players who have never played TWG ever, but if you've played any variation of Mafia anywhere, a normal TWG would be just fine to join.
