Re: 10th Official FFR Tournament
The only probable metal styles that could make a 90 file are speed/neoclassical/progressive metal, technical death metal or grindcore - maybe mathcore and some black metal to an extent. Problem is that a lot of these songs would make shitty files in the first place (they would probably end up as js dumps) but what do I know about stepfiling in the first place lol.
Anyway, here's some potential 90s : @ jonlovesddr But yeah, jazz drummers are too often overlooked, that doesn't mean Neil Peart is incompetent.

Re: 10th Official FFR Tournament
no you can't because it's really atonal and sound matching can only do so much. it needs more than just drums by themselves at least.

Re: 10th Official FFR Tournament
I've stepped tap dancing before (in fact bmah sent me a tap dance song last night lol) and it's very fun to step.
I love stepping percussion lines, they make for great files. For 90+ files though you do need a bit more usually. Even though stuff like Terminal 11 is "mostly percussion" being able to layer in the odd jump to a melody or use a little PR to some pitched sounds goes a long way.

This is, for example, only 142 bpm 16ths, until the ending which is a 284 bpm stream- still way too slow for anything in the 90s range. I suppose you could make a roll wall out of the buzz but then it's no better than all the other roll wall/buzz files we have. Quote:
The problem for FFR is, of course, getting permission. And, beyond that, very few of these bands have songs that are particularly melodic. (usually the melodic ones are the worst for stepping too rip) Yes the blast beats make for some good stream/JS files, so you do avoid the roll wall issue, but the music is still... kinda polarizing.

Re: 10th Official FFR Tournament
Lonely as it is,
Tonight I'll write a letter, though I'm Miserable worrying if you can know The feelings I've to show Could it really be I'm only writing in my whimsy? Before I know, the sheets of paper grow With my emotions in tow I'll calculate my chances of Falling in love As long as I try hard! It's looking good, just as it should! So to make sure that our love sticks and won't fall apart To let our wishes and fears be close to our hearts, Of course! Let's staple them with the bonds of love! It was so simple at first, but it won't be the same Somehow it's gotten so dense, passion won't be tamed And suddenly it's so complex that the staples won't go through, But tomorrow, I'll see you! Just what do I do? It's embarrassing, I won't read it to you! It's so cheesy, lovey-dovey feelings there Talking 'bout just how much I care! I'd be so distraught because I won't know how or what you thought Maybe you'll just throw it in the bin Should I just keep it in? You'll figure out just what I mean After you've seen How hard I worked to write! That's how we'll be, no dictionary! For every moment I worry and anticipate Even the times that I’ll love you, and times I might hate. Why don’t we just staple them with our bonds of love? When I think about you, my heart skips a beat But when the feeling piles up, I just can’t be discreet! I ran out of staples… so until then I’ll see you again! Re: 10th Official FFR Tournament
I looked in the back-end to see all of my plays for the tournament and came to a staggering statistic that's pretty telling of how badly the early parts of the song are killing me:
Out of my 326 plays so far, 270 of them have ended at note 350 or earlier. That is a failure rate of roughly 83% for even getting past the opening. |

Re: 10th Official FFR Tournament
ok seriously what the fuck
i thought i was sitting there comfortably with my 15 and then i go to bed and wake up and BAM! another random guy gets an AAA why are there 2 AAA's and a 3 in d3 on a 69 i checked their level ranks and this song is both of these players' otaku speedvibe oni unlock. like if you wanted oni and it wasn't a tournament situation then you wouldn't ever choose to get it on THAT song. they didn't even AAA crimson flood which is so much easier in my opinion why is the sky falling yay it looks like i'm going to be out on the money bubble this tournament which is an ironic reflection of my success in poker tournaments
