This core group was before your time, but it actually contained a bunch of high-tier players with good quality rational reasoning skills. Far away and above better then the group we have running now. Most of those players could function self sufficiently, while sadly most of our current database cannot. Don't get me wrong, theres a few players that can reach that echelon with some development, but they're not there yet, nor will they develop further unless the quality of these games improve.

anyway what's up with this? is there still a council? is there a way to bring any of these people back? why are people playing full games without aims/ IMs? is there a line between our junior and senior games anymore?

The council is pretty much just me at this point. What i've been doing is changing/editing a rule or making a ban and asking the TWG players if they agree. In the case that they don't agree They'd need to reach something ilke 4 or 5 votes for me to not implement the change/ban.

There isn't really a difference between TWG and jTWG at this point. we only have enough players to situate one game at a time, so TWG/jTWG is mainly being decided by difficulty of the game.

People are being allowed to play full games without AIMs currently because, once again, our playerbase is incredibly small. We can't afford to turn people away because they don't have AIMs or else we won't have games (hey that rhymed). TWG is essentially a buyers market currently.

There seems to be some confusion on whether the new games being hosted are classified as TWGs or jTWGs.

As far as I am concerned every game played henceforth is a TWG. The difference comes when we have two sets of games going (one for new players, and one for more experienced players). Seeing has how we barely have the player base to support one set of games, there really isn't the need for jTWGs anymore.

So tl;dr:
We don't have enough players for jTWGs. TWGs can be simple and not be jTWGs. Don't call your games jTWGs anymore.

I included Gun and Syhto on the temporary ban list. It's a 1 game ban for activity.

If people find this unfair/unwarrented, give me a reason and accumulate 5 votes from people who play TWG and I will forego the ban.

Just popping in to say something of interest: Matrix6, the original MS setup that my "Enter The Matrix" game is based on, is a game specifically developed as a "newbie game", and originally is a Daystart game meant to accommodate a mere 9 players (7 town, 2 red). What I think is that by making it a Night Start and adding one extra VT ('cause Daystarts can be daunting to newer players), we can have an excellent jTWG setup. Anyone interested, we can work it out here.

Here it is folks:

There will be no lynch limit.

ROLE INFO

Wolf Roleblocker: Chooses one person a night to cancel their night action, if they have one.

Seer: Checks one person for color each night. Results return HUMAN or NOT HUMAN.

Guardian: Protects one person (other than herself) from death each night.

Wizard: Casts a protective spell over a person for the night that guards them, but also blocks their night action.

Tracker: Picks someone to track and see who they targeted with a night action, if any.

Resilient Human: Takes two kill attempts to kill. Seers and flips GREEN.

MECHANICS

The wolves must always choose ONE wolf to carry out the nightly kill.


Pre-game, a Normal Wolf must choose one (1) of the following special powers to recieve:
Investigation Immunity: Any Seer will see you as HUMAN.
1-Shot Overthrow: Once during the game, you may choose to make a lynch fail. This power will not work if it is you who gets lynched.
1-Shot Juggernaut: Once during the game, you may choose to become unstoppable during the night, and are guaranteed to kill a wolfing target.

If the Wolves get a Roleblocker, the Normal Wolf gets his choice of power. If not, it will be a coin flip between the two.

The Wolf Roleblocker is allowed to both submit the night kill and perform his Roleblocker action. However, the Tracker will see him target two people, and the Wizard will cancel both actions.

The Roleblocker has priority over the Wizard. (This only matters in the case where the Roleblocker and Wizard target one another.)

I have edited the version of the game into last post for review. I've done some tweaking to make it more balanced but still jTWGish.

The main thing is the added wolf power choice. However, I can already see some glaring flaws in it. Investigation Immunity is an attractive choice, but it is actually inherently inferior to the other powers, as they don't depend on a role being present. And having a lynch overthrown is too jarring I think.

If it is kept, nobody will be told why someone survived a lynch. It could be the overthrow, or the Resilient Human.

Fall of Paradise has 21 players, so I dunno. It is a mystery game, and it's certainly conceptually sound at this point.
