Sensationalism in the medias
From the past years, Quebec's journalistic sphere has been corrupted by a growing sense of sensationalism - mostly coming from our english-speaking neighbors - and it has been really frightening to see the propaganda of this new trend and the negative effects it has spawned. I'm really ashamed of our journalistic integrity and I'd like to know what's your views on your current media network and if you think it really is a harmful matter.
Just this noon, there was a news coverage about a stabbing homicide of a boy who had murdered its own family and they have presented an audio recording of the mother asking for help WHILE the kid was buttering her. There's so much idiocy going on with what is presented and how the content is handled. It's not always extreme stuff like this, but whatever the cause, I've been baffled pretty much every time I open the television. And I never do. |

Re: Sensationalism in the medias
Be more specific here. Sensationalism has origins in the 16th and 17th century and even in ancient Rome. It does not associate with a language in general but can be more present in certain groups. Or maybe you were referring to FOX or Sun News.

I believe it's this story you're referring ? If so, i'll try to catch the evening news to see what are the reactions of the journalists and how they handle this. The best news source you can get remains always neutral. I prefer reading news from the Internet (generally from very credible sources).

Re: Sensationalism in the medias
I refer to how the content Québecor Media is offering has been influenced by the management of their canadian network Sun News and how they are heavily influenced by some american news channel. Quote:
