Re: May-hem: DAY THIRTY
Final boss: All average FC (nothing else) on RATO to get every token in the game and a million credits.
I wish that were real. LOL!

Re: May-hem: DAY THIRTY
Hey guys. Huge apologies about not getting the Day 31 challenges up -- I completely forgot to do it. I came home from work yesterday sick to my stomach (I actually vomited in a bathroom at work, haha). I'm guessing something that I ate didn't really agree with me at all.
Anyway, I'm going to conclude the event at Day 30, because I only had two challenges set up for Day 31 (it was just a ??? challenge that was a stupid anti-PA average-attack for RATO, and the super-boss was to full combo Jamais Vu with over 1950 goods; my best run on that wasn't even close, rofl). Either way, it was a really fun experience to see you guys playing all the way through. I'm going to spend some time a bit later updating the spreadsheet and figuring out how many credits that I need to get out (expecting a couple million at the least). There's not much updating in terms of results, but there's going to be a lot of not-automated calculations for credits, so the prize distribution might take a little while. I also don't have access to hand out tokens myself, so I'll have to ask any administrator to give them out via FMAP. Thank you guys so much for participating; I'll get you guys the results as soon as possible. Last edited by TC_Halogen; 06-1-2013 at 12:59 PM.. |

Re: May-hem: DAY THIRTY
Thanks for all your hard work AJ! Even though I didn't participate the whole time I had a blast. It's just good to see you guys trying new things and keeping the site more active. Hype for next official tournament(I assume it's drawing near)

Re: May-hem: DAY THIRTY
Those day 31 challenges sound like they would've been ridiculous and infuriating anyway... it almost makes me glad you were upchucking instead. <3

Re: May-hem: DAY THIRTY
It was a great event, it had a wide variety of different challenges of a wide range of difficulties. Overall, a great event, would like to have a May-hem 2014 next year. Perhaps the FFR community could suggest some challenges for next year's May-hem event?

Re: May-hem: DAY THIRTY
Even though I only truly participated the first 8 or 9 days and didn't win any tokens, this was a pretty good event. A couple suggestions though, if you're going to be away/forget about stuff, get the event helpers or other admins to keep stuff posted. Also, for the day 31 thing, instead of having just super-boss and ??? challenges it would've been cool to have actual challenges as well (even though they might be inhuman to most of us anyway).

Yeah, haha. I'm a bit obsessed with good count challenges -- my best run was in the high 1800s (something like 1890 iirc).

That was an awesome event, too bad I could only do up to like 9 days. So much fun though

Re: May-hem: DAY THIRTY
Time to work on some spreadsheet automation! I hope that I can get the prizes out before the 5th, haha.
EDIT: I guess that's one reason why I love Excel: custom variables can be done with ease. With those, I can actually automate this to give me my credit counts for each challenge with good accuracy. Total credit count for the event will come soon (as long as things don't go wrong)! EDIT2: lol fuck, I have to code some macros. This might take a little longer than I thought EDIT3: Macros are done! I'm going to add one more formula into my excel to calculate the totals from every day to see how many credits have been distributed in the entire event, and then I'll slowly start paying you guys out. I'll see if I can optimize the time a bit, but I project the credit delivery being the absolute worst part of this... should be another 20/30 minutes before I find out the full total. Re: May-hem: DAY THIRTY
Double post:
The base credit prize is 904,870, plus 84,850 alternative credit prizes for days 21/22 and 25,200 for day 16. That comes to a total of 1,014,920. Day 1 prizes were fully paid out, but nothing else has been -- that total includes day 1 (which accounts for < 1% of the prize anyway). EDIT: I spent about three hours today tabulating, double-checking, and automating the spreadsheet using various macros, so I'm gonna take a break for now. I'm going to spend tomorrow trying to find a way to optimize the credit distribution so that I can hand you guys your prizes in full sums rather than in tiny pieces. Re: May-hem: DAY THIRTY
Hey guys, giving you another update. I've figured out how I want to gather and compile the credit prizes -- I'm changing the values of the spreadsheet from the 1s to signal a completed challenge, to the credit counts that the challenges are worth.
Essentially, a little bit of code is changing this: http://puu.sh/3avLH.png to this: http://puu.sh/3avQD.png with a single click. I'm lazy and don't want to handle so much data so I'll let Visual Basic handle it, lol From there, I'm simply going to copy all of the entries to a master list, sort them, and then tally them. This takes less time than actually distributing thirty days of tiny (but growing) results, since I'll have full sums for each person. ...so you guys should see your credit prizes in the next day or two (possibly today if I can -really- get moving). Thank you all for your patience. |

Re: May-hem: DAY THIRTY
Are you going to post the final payouts? I won't be able to see my credit transactions for a while and I'm curious how much I got. Also, will you be removing entries that you already paid out during the first couple days?

Re: May-hem: DAY THIRTY
Because I had to run a number of macros on Excel to optimize the time/speed taken to handle things, the Google spreadsheet is actually not accurate. I'll upload the Excel spreadsheet for people to see what the credit payouts look like. The spreadsheet will be a chaotic mess but I understand it, so that's all that matters. Look for that... soon. I'm a bit swamped now -- I worked 9 to 5 today and have a ton of studying to do so that I don't end up behind from where I want to be in my networking class and aifhaiufhaiushgiuahgt.
