Re: 9th Official Tournament -- Sign-ups closed.
who wants to dedicate that much time in 1-2 days. Granted a lot of people are really able to just spend less than an hour on the song and AAA and wait the week, but there are a lot of people who don't want to have to feel like they need to come home from work and immediately play the game if they want to stay in the tournament. If it were only two days and starts Thursday night, I'm one of the people who would have to play after work on both Friday and Saturday if necessary and I just wouldn't want to have to deal with that. It's really nice knowing that you have a week that you can find time to set aside to score on a song, especially if you truly need a lot of time to improve your score or try to improve your score. Don't even know why I'm responding because there's no way that'll happen xD Just kinda bothered me and I'm letting it out I guess xP

I work 8-10 hours a day, minimum of three days a week, I'm a full time CS student, I have two kids, and I'm handling of all sorts of stuff for the tournament, including file syncs, dashboard handling, file uploading, etc. ...I'm also playing in D7 as well, lol. Two days is ridiculously short for people who actually have legitimate responsibilities and still want to play the game. A week better accommodates for people. A week has been the standard for the official, and it should stay that way -- I'm sure as hell not changing that |

Re: 9th Official Tournament -- Sign-ups closed.
Let's say you have an unexpected death of a family member who you were close with and they lived out of state. Seeing as they meant a lot to you you pay your respects and travel out of state for a few days (72 hours). As you're about to walk out the door, to depart for your out of state trip (just an assumption) but I don't think a persons top priority is "Shit I need to go grab my laptop/computer so I can submit a score for a FFR tourney," leaving you with 0 hours out of a possible 72. Point being....you can't control life and for some, FFR isn't the most important thing in life to make time for.

Well, sometimes it pays to be patient. There really wasn't a need for any of this ignorance.

Second: I did post in the thread at least twice that D2 and D5 are being reworked, as the entry point standards definitely were a bit lower than I wanted this time around, and it's really not anyone's fault but my own. I structured the tournament a particular way, and a number of users were affected by it -- I am looking over the D5 players and will be docking a few players down to D4 (as well as looking at the D2 players and moving a few up to D3). I will then take a quick glance at the players that I still feel are borderline and make a final decision. |

If I had to drop out due to serious family and/or other issues, emergencies, what have you, then no I wouldn't. But if I got "bored" and decided I didn't want to play anymore then yes, I would for essentially wasting the time of the staff to include me in the placement process when in reality I had no intentions of finishing. They're taking time out of their lives to organize this for you to even play in so you should be thankful instead of complaining about round length. Two solutions to your boredom 1) Play other songs to get better while your waiting 2) Don't sign up in the first place so you'll have nothing to wait for |

Re: 9th Official Tournament -- Sign-ups closed.
...very close, and still up for movement considering placements aren't finalized...
you could make my life a lot easier by moving yourself to D7 (considering that you're borderline in my eyes, if you agree to move yourself up to D7 and actually participate, I'd still give you Unconnected., lol) Last edited by TC_Halogen; 10-24-2013 at 11:20 AM.. |

Hype for tonight.
I haven't really played in over two months. Will be interesting to see where my skill goes once I get back into the game. |

This decision is honestly VERY DIFFICULT. I would essentially be removing myself from any shot of placing. The BIGGEST problem is I can't AAA high level stuff. I literally don't have one over level 81. So AAA or die means.. I die. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO.
