Should I learn to use two hands?
I played 1200 games so far, and I usually play 'difficult'.
I always used only one hand, but tried to change to two hands a few times. However, when I try to play harder songs, it is very hard to play with one hand. Is it OK to keep playing one hand, or should I change so it might be hard at first but I can be better? When I tired using two hands, it really confused me, so I had to give up. I also want to know if there are people that can play very hard songs using one hand. |

EugeneKim? Are you from Cal High? Anyway, yes, you should. Much better, you should be beating your 1 handed scores in days.

One of the best one-handers at the moment is Redorigami. He's gotten some crazy good scores, and I know for sure he's unlocked Otaku Heavy. I also believe Darkmanticorex2 once played one-handed and used to be one of the best also.

Play Beatmania IIDX. You're basically forced to play 2 hands there. Then, come back to FFR. It'll be a breeze.

I play one-handed. Yes two-handed is a lot easier but I think it's a lot more fun with one. Do whatever you like but two-handed would get better scores in less time.

Re: Should I learn to use two hands?
You can become really good with one handed, though it takes much more time and more practice. It's a personal decision and if it makes you happy to switch, then by all means do it but not because people tell you to.

Re: Should I learn to use two hands?
It's a matter of opinion on what style is best for everyone. The vast majority of people find it easier playing spread, and it is, but I find that it's a much better accomplishment mastering one hand because not as many people go for it.
With practise comes dedication, dedication is what leads you to your goal.

Re: Should I learn to use two hands?
To get better, its best taking 2 hands and spread, I did at least.
Btw, a good spread layout is A S K L. |

Re: Should I learn to use two hands?
I play with two. It feels a little easier to play with two hands than just one. You have a finger on each arrow so pressing each arrow is faster.

Re: Should I learn to use two hands?
When I started playing Stepmania, I started out on medium songs. I used two hands, when I tried heavy I gotten better. So yeah, try spread, it's easier to work with two hands except it's a little hard to get jumpstreams. So try and practice.
