Re: TWG Champions Season 2 Representative Picking
Made it to the wildcard game, as I think a lot of people know
The game was really, really stellar. Its why I play this game, and it gave me a feeling I haven't felt in a long time. I absolutely love you guys, and I wouldn't be here if I didn't believe you to be intelligent players worth playing with, through and through, so I mean this with no offense, because I am putting myself down as well with this statement, but it was the highest quality game I have ever played of Werewolf. Every single player in the game was at least above average. I'd probably put myself around 8th or 9th overall out of the pool of 18 (There were originally 17, but one replaced out), but there's a huge amount of distance between where I am on that, and where the top 5 player are. They're in a league of their own. Seeing some of the events happen in the game reminds me of why I play this game, the feeling of confusion of not knowing what's going on when your top townreads turn out to be wolves, combing the thread for hours looking for evidence to back your world, but not finding it, is thrilling. The box score of this game looks something like this: All in all, it truly was a pleasure to have played in the wildcard game, I consider it an honor to have been chosen by the jury to move on into that. I found it significantly more pleasurable than the qualifying game before it, as I have gone on record to a few people saying that the vast majority of players in that game were below average in my opinion. Thank you all very much for allowing me to represent this site in this event. I don't think I said that before, but it meant a lot to me to be chosen. Not going to give too of a talk here, but playing there reinforced my opinion that, on this esoteric, nearly dead forum, there is a small but thriving player-base for a slightly-less-esoteric forum game, and that player here on FFR, if you work hard enough at it, you truly can become a top-tier player while having a lot of fun doing it. I'd put my chances of moving on into the Finals at very, very low. I truly believe that I am not good enough of a player in order to take the spot from someone else in the wildcard game, or, if replacements are needed, there are a lot of players in the game who I consider to be my superior in this game without a doubt. In order for this to happen, I think a lot of people who are in the Finals already would have to replace out (something like 10 would be my guess), and that's just unrealistic. I am eligible to be voted if there is a season four, but I think I would rather let someone else from FFR go next time instead of me, as there is a good chance I could represent DailyMafia or Super Mafia All-Stars instead, and there was not very much interest in anyone from those communities playing in the series. Thank you all for voting for me, thanks to everyone who hyped me up, special thanks to Mashi for writing a kick-ass Bio for me, it was a pleasure. It means probably more to me than a lot of you would think that this small, subsection of a forum still has people dedicated to playing these games after all these years, and though I have spent a short time here compared to some of you, thank you for giving me a place here. As for what is to come, well you all already know, but only TIME will tell

It's good to see our community was well-represented, and it looks like that game breathed a new breath of fire into you. I only hope it doesn't get quenched playing here again.
Thanks for the summary Greg, and thanks for representing our community. |

I do absolutely believe that playing here can create some of the best players on the internet. I know it sounds like a catch phrase, but probably all of you were better than some of the competition I faced in the qualifying round. It did put me in a mood to play TWG, not gonna lie.

Re: TWG Champions Season 2 Representative Picking
Hello guys
Once again, thanks for participating in this year's Mafia Championship. It was great to have you be represented (Sunfan GOAT), and hopefully you'll be there for next year's season as well I thought you might be interested to know that the finale for this season finally started yesterday. 136 communities, 9 games and almost 6 months later - it's finally time for the final 17 players to battle it out to find out which*player will earn the title of the Internet's best mafia/werewolf player. Want to spectate the finale? If any people from your community are interested in following along and spectating, you can find the game thread here: mafiauniverse.com/forums/threads/3255-Season-3-Final-Game-The-Koopa-Troop-DAY-ONE The OP post contains a spoiler box called "Threadmarks". Inside this, a table of links to important events will be automatically generated. I.e. it will link to the various day and night starts, for example, making it easier for spectators to get an overview of the game. Day 1 ends tonight at 8 PM EST. If you'd also like to chat with other spectators about the game, we have a huge chat on Skype with almost 200 people. If you're a social butterfly, this is also just a great opportunity to talk with other mafia/werewolf enthusiasts about whatever - it's a very friendly bunch. Join this chat by adding me on Skype: thingyman (the one with a picture). Additionally, you can also join the on-site spectator thread by*PM'ing "Thingyman" on the site. Note that activation emails will probably go to your spam folder. If you are having trouble with anything, try PM'ing me here. Hydra event interest? At least a dozen different communities this year expressed an interest in a so-called "hydra event". If you don't know what "hydra" means, it's when two people share the same account (two heads). So the idea is that each participating community can send a hydra of two players, the advantage of which is that it's maybe easier to be active when two players are both playing on the same account, and it's also just a lot of fun. If you are interested in participating in such an event, do let me know and I'll start making a list of interested communities. I don't expect all 135 communities to participate in this at all, so it'll most likely be a smaller thing and obviously it will just be for fun. |

Re: TWG Champions Season 2 Representative Picking
I wouldn't want a sunfan/danceguy hydra, I don't think I would want to participate at all, I'm gonna try to focus on school this semester.
I think a Xiz/Charu hydra would make me happy, or something along those lines
