I'm glad I'm not the only person that sees good potential in Zombie Sunset.

Already posted in this thread, but i figured I'd say my fav file as of right now is calamity fortune. i dont think the file is technically "perfect" like the oldies are [Ex:Toph's bte and Hayden's Ageha] but perfect doesn't always mean fun. There are quite a few files that are technically more perfect that I find to be boring. Don't know if people want to expand on this idea.

Re: Which stepchart, to you, is as close to perfect as it gets?
There are a lot of things that contribute to something being fun. The chart having a song you like and being at a skill level that's entertaining to you are two things that are entirely subjective. Then there are other things which are more objective like the chart having a consistent difficulty structure, i.e. not being very easy in one half and very hard in another, or being at one difficulty level and then having one single part or section that is significantly harder and ruins scoring. The chart being on-sync (obviously) and having notes that all match sounds in the song, the chart having a recognizable structure insofar as layering and chords are placed. "Technicality" and fun are not actually two binary, separable factors, but rather how technically accurate a chart is is a single factor of fun.

XP Startup Theme.
Minus one jump near the beginning and the jump at the end, it's pretty solid and very nice to listen to. Staring at my Spaceship is also really good. -o24

^This
was kind of what I was wanting people to discuss more about. Being someone who is just discovering the art of step-charting, I wanted to have a sort of consensus on what people like the most about their favorite step-chart. Like some of the things you mentioned, difficulty structure being an example. and it's your calamity fortune, not sure if anyone else ever stepped it. |

Honest question - what's so great about Thermosphere? Nearly everyone has mentioned it already.

I'm gonna make a quick list of the files off the top of my head, I feel are noteworthy for either being files I like personally or files I think are really well stepped.
S.E.B in B.E.D Makiba System Doctor Xanthystrauma Lawn Wake I Lawn Wake IV Grand Galop Chromatique Perfect Cherry Storm Momentary Life Spacedust Epilogue (Lol, I can tell there will be disagreements with this one XD) Blue Army Polyanna Rocks Your World Cosmic Orchestra The Rapids Rollercoaster Ride Holy Orders And my favourite file in-game: Tenimuhou There's probably more but these are the ones that immediately spring to mind.

Re: Which stepchart, to you, is as close to perfect as it gets?
Epilogue is fucking terrible.
The itnro is PR nazi'd while the rest is backwards or just wrong there's a random 16th jump no one noticed / I never fixed the the trills are dick 1 2 3 2 3 4 is a horrible pattern at that BPM If yer gonna pick one of my files pick one of the good ones like Alice's Garden.
