question about second accounts

hey, this is PhantomPuppy. just made this account recently to practice/learn one-handing. i was wondering if it was like, against the rules to ghost tourneys for D1 on this account. not participate in them for prizes or anything, just follow tourneys, play their songs for practice and see where i'm at. if anybody can let me know, that'd be great.

I don't think there is anything wrong with doing that as long as you're not cheating on them or finding ways to get around the system.

Edit: For example, Mrpreggers and Rapta have alts.

wouldnt try cheating, not about that life. just for the experience, not the prizes or tourney placings.

yeah but rapta has like 3 alts for no reason other than 'he likes playing on them'

using alts for a specific purpose is okay i suppose, although i guess it does clog up ranks if everyone has one so idk

Having a second account is no problem at all if you don't want to use your main account to practice other styles of play.

I saw a few people in the Official ghost divisions ahead of them before. You can also PM the person in charge of the tournament and ask if it's okay to ghost if you feel like you're going to get in trouble. :P

Alts are frowned upon without a good reason for them, but it won't get you in trouble for having one as long as you are following the rules

alt accounts are commonly used for:

different playstyles
posting in the forums
playing a forum game
making a joke account

As long as it doesn't break site rules, and you're not sandbagging your official division position in a tournament, you're cool.

I have 2 alts, but I'm not telling anyone who they are. >w> sneaky sneaky
