Operation: Evolution was a failure.
I think the fine staff and administration of FFR and Thirdstyle might have hit FFR a little hard (bro) by taking the gamewhore competition approach to get people to play thirdstyle more. Three people have IMed me saying that after this competition they're never playing Thirdstyle again because it was practically like forcing a cigarette smoker to smoke a whole carton in a day, ergo -too much of a good thing-. Playing 10+ hours of thirdstyle for an FFR token is obviously draining and I'm not sure that this approach necessarily worked to get more people on Thirdstyle in the long run (of course it worked for the day).

I don't think they expected the competition to be this intense.

Re: Operation: Evolution was a failure.
TS sucks and any idea to get people to play it is just stupid.

Re: Operation: Evolution was a failure.
I enjoyed 9th place, and dragon890 enjoyed ts so much that even after he won he kept going
you don't speak for everyone, just those who don't like to do vrofl runs, in which case why would you even attempt it to begin with?

Re: Operation: Evolution was a failure.
I wouldn't have wanted to touch the reqs in this one haha, even if I didn't have work today. I deliberately passed this one up for more than one reason. I said this in another thread, but the event was going to backfire, and it did.
However, I think your poll is slightly misleading. It's obviously worded in a way to curve in favor of one side. I'm going to play TS more in the near future, but the event obviously didn't provide any "new found respect" for me. I think the poll should be reworded. edit: lmao ok I see, Rushy I might be mistaken, but didn't you originally hail from TS? Last edited by bmah; 12-19-2011 at 11:11 PM.. |

Re: Operation: Evolution was a failure.
The one time when I actually played Thirdstyle, I had a major skill drop on FFR haha. This idea was a bad idea for me so I'm glad I didn't do it haha.

Re: Operation: Evolution was a failure.
Poll was mainly intended for thirdstyle haters going into this competition which is why it's worded like it is.

Re: Operation: Evolution was a failure.
I didn't take the challenge too seriously- First, the song was way to long and was boring, second, the chart was awkward for me. That just put me off the challenge.
I still like TS though. |

Re: Operation: Evolution was a failure.
I figured this was going to get whoreish so I didn't even feel like bothering to go for top 10. Glad I didn't either, because I don't feel like wasting 15+ hours playing one song to get another song.
And lol @ 42 people viewing this thread.
