If you're feeling adventerous, why not try some other notable video game composers... Motoi Sakuraba comes to mind. Star Ocean, Valkyrie Profile, the Tales series, etc. Plus, a lot of his non-videogame music is really really really steppable (the song Motion... <3)

The link to his email on the english site didn't work for me, but it's probably better maintained on his Japanese site.

also, I don't think we can get permission from a major label for free (except for pretty rare cases).
