17.82 years. I am catching up. But sadly so did the carpal tunnel and bad vision. Had surgery in right hand. Not quite what I used to be when I was 17 (now 35)
Missed ya'll

This is like my 4th account and it's running close to 18 years. Pretty sure the others have to be pretty damn close to that 20 year mark.

Posting here strictly to see what the join date on this account is.
I have like two other accounts to this site I’m aware of… TD_Tsuka and I forgot what the other one was.

Hello! Found this thread, checked my profile.. 19.9 years. Go figure.
I had a typing class in 1st period during high school. The teacher always showed up 15-30 minutes early and let us come in to practice typing or go online. Myself and a few others were checking out the new concept of flash games and videos for awhile, and FFR came up. It was probably my first rhythm game. Shortly after this, I found and kept a copy of an offline beta release with roughly half a dozen songs playable. I just ran it last night because I couldn't connect to the FFR server. Still feels great! Eventually I started using standalone flash players in a bid to improve performance. On the side I joined the FFR video chat - it was a strikingly different implementation than most websites, in retrospect. After VC went down, some regulars migrated to other platforms like Stickam for a little while. There were talks of 6-12 of us moving into a place together. An FFR commune or house.. a FFRouse. Fast-forward to now, there's a Discord server for VCers. Anywho. Tried SpinItUp for awhile; cool concept, but FFR already had my heart. Later I was following the developments of Rithum. Over the years I developed perhaps one of the strangest finger arrangements: left hand middle finger on left key, left hand pointer finger on up and down keys, right hand pointer finger on right key. Whatever you're thinking, I agree with you. Since March 2024 I have been doing special workout sessions where I play with a USB dance pad (hard surface) via Joy2Key. I had been wanting to try it for over a decade! The PC dance pad market is rough, but I lucked out coming across an affordable, local one-off supplier. A little after that, someone made a rudimentary DDR/FFR-style minigame for my favorite game (Legend of Dragoon) as an April Fools joke. However, it wasn't a joke, it was a real mod anyone could play. I still run it sometimes, and I'm hoping we can get a more robust V2 going within the next year. So there you have it, a brief history of a random FFR player. As someone who now is now big on game preservation, as well as the spirit of the old web, it's cool to see FFR is still here. The game, the website, the forum, and the events. There are so many songs! I like experiencing the new ones, and I'm glad I can still play the older ones that I grew up with. For me, FFR and its music are timeless. I look forward to many more years with the game. Last edited by Scythe_Bomber; 08-16-2025 at 08:22 AM.. |
