Re: Michigan Meetup v3.0
Cedar Point on the 18th, yes.
Izzy has to work until 3 or 4 PM on the 15th, and we'd presumably drive immediately afterwards. So we wouldn't be there for anything happening on Friday. We wouldn't even get there until like 5 AM Saturday morning.
Mapquest is telling me its 743 miles to Ann Arbor. 11.75 hours. We can make it in 11.
Whose place are we staying at? I'm going to need an address and maybe a couple phone numbers from some people who are going. At least the person's place we're staying at. This can be PM'd to me or you can talk to me on Skype/AIMComment

Re: Michigan Meetup v3.0
I'm not shy with my phone number, I have two you can reach me at.
586-549-8325 (My "old" phone, using this at the moment)
586-277-2197 (My new phone, will be using this Friday once I pay the bill on it)
I'd offer you to stay at my place for the weekend, but I'll be at work most likely for the entirety.
also iirc you're staying with Blind? That's like an hour and half from Ann Arbor so you'd probably be here in like 10.5 hours.Last edited by cedolad; 08-5-2014, 08:51 PM.

Re: Michigan Meetup v3.0
Whose house I stay at depends a bit on if they'd get pissed off with me getting there so late or not. But whoever is the farthest west would certainly shorten the trip. Where do you guys actually live?
btw my number is 816-728-7708Last edited by Rebirth0; 08-5-2014, 09:15 PM.Comment

Re: Michigan Meetup v3.0
Madison Heights would add about an hour to the trip, making it more like 11 - 12 hours. Its 740 miles to Ann Arbor, 785 to Madison Heights
edit: blindreper lives in Roseville, which is even farther, 793 miles -_-
Mapquest says 12.5 hours nowLast edited by Rebirth0; 08-5-2014, 10:00 PM.Comment

Re: Michigan Meetup v3.0
I think I might do that then. I'll drive to cedolad's place, get there probably at 5 AM and sleep there for 6 hours or so, then the whole thing will start sometime on Saturday. Then we'll either stay at cedolad's or blind's place for the other 2 - 3 days.
PM me your address cedloadComment

Re: Michigan Meetup v3.0
As for Cedar Point tickets, there are certain grocery stores in Kansas City or St Louis that offer discounted tickets for whatever theme park is nearby. I remember a few years ago Six Flags tickets at the gate were about $40 but I got them for $32 at a local grocery store.
I guess any Detroit businesses might not have Cedar Point tickets but we could look into something in Toledo or somewhere closer to the park itself
Edit:
Their website has some August sale where you can get the tickets for $40 each, which includes their water park I guess. Tickets must be purchased online.
"Meijer" stores in the area sell tickets for $50 each. I'm not finding any other active discounts on the internet. Seems our best way to go is to order through the website and get them for $40 each.Last edited by Rebirth0; 08-6-2014, 10:28 AM.Comment

Re: Michigan Meetup v3.0
It actually appears that we can use the tickets any time from August 9 - 24, so Monday doesn't HAVE to be the day we go, but still I'd imagine that would be the day.
You also can't use a gmail address when purchasing these because they must not have updated their email extension databases in over 10 years so gmail doesn't exist, but somehow my K-State email address worked. gg cedar pointComment
