Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread
Ok. Probably because your already a simfile author, it doesn't really have that much of an effect on you. But I'm trying to get something edited for my file before 6 weeks is up so don't take it the wrong way or anything.

Hands are not allowed below FMO (which I still don't see the reason why). Hands and triples are not the same thing. Triples are allowed on any file. =_= Hand=3 simultaneous arrows on the same frame Triple=a type of pattern in which 3 consecutive 16th notes are followed by a 16th rest repeated. (could be 32nds etc. as long as it's 3 consecutive followed by a rest repeated, and is fast enough)

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread
How many times do I have to tell you that in this context 'triples' and 'hands' are the same thing.
Just another case where the same word has multiple meanings. Also, we test what you submit. We don't make changes to it.

2) I don't remember you ever directing a post at me. 3) The way GG Guru split the terms hand and triples made it look like he was referring to 2 different things. Otherwise, he was being redundant, and redundancy is usually a writing error for the exact reason why I interpreted the text that way. 4) I may not need to have posted a response to GG Guru, but it was for my own information. If triples were indeed not allowed under FMOs, then there would be something wrong with the knowledge I have. I needed to be certain, as there are many people (for some odd reason) who come referring to me for help in something FFR-related. I rarely ever post here. <_< I usually only breeze through the posts and batch notes to learn something new.

By the way, the hands and triples fit perfectly with the beat so I don't see why their not allowed under FMO's. See for yourself, you'd be surprised how well it matches. Quote:

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread
is something that the writer does before submitting any written work, not the reader. The writer writes, revises and proofreads so he/she can accurately and precisely convey his/her ideas. Really, the fact that you don't know the definition of proofreading tells me many things.
Moreover, it is split, "...change the hands into doubles? Same for triples..." You don't need to put "Same for triples" into that post, because it is redundant. There would have been absolutely no problem with "...change the hands into doubles? I heard that you don't allow those below FMOs," because hands are generally accepted as 3 simultaneous arrows on one frame. Same thing with the preceding post. "Hands and triples" is not necessary. "Hands" is fine. You are only creating a greater chance for misinterpretation. K, I'm done ranting about proper writing. I would assume you thought you were doing nothing wrong because you did not know there was a specific definition for triples in the Official Picture Dictionary. Regardless of whether it was redundant or not, it's still a writing mistake. This is often mistaken by many people, but it is more the writer's responsibility to convey his ideas properly. It is not the reader's responsibility to interpret the text the way the writer wants him/her to. That is why language and a set of rules for language exists. The first step in language communication is for the writer to write according to the given rules. The next step is for the reader to read according to the given rules. Without proper writing, proper reading cannot be done.[/offtopic] rofl That's a new misconception.

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread
i waited 3 months to have that title for my first submission ever to ffr. honestly that's not too bad considering the massive amounts of files they judge and pass through queue. my second submission from 2 months ago just made the queue. I waited trust me, some even longer than I

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread
GG_Guru, the file you submitted was blank (no steps, no nothing).
It's too late to send it in for this batch. Send the correct file for the next batch.

What? no it wasn't...I double checked. Maybe you downloaded the wrong one. I know it's in there. I had to re-send it to Tass' email.

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread
It's a commentary on the state of judging in FFR. Artists feel silenced by having make files to the specifications of others.

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread
blu came to me about the blank .sm file.... so i went and checked to see if it was my error in unzipping or your error. and i re-checked... it's a .sm file with all the head data, but no notechart. so i checked your older one (which i had ignored when you submitted a new one anyway... as any logical person would) and it was also blank.
so... whole bunch of things: 1. you submitted the same file multiple times for 1 batch, which as i've ranted on is a bit pet peeve of mine. double, triple, quadrouple check your file again and again to make sure it's perfect. THEN submit it once. i get enough emails as it is. 2. you didn't even bother to verify that you actually HAD a file in the zip and not just a 300 byte nothing. 3. clearly you don't know the rules for FFR files... one of the most discussed is the policy on hands. no hands in non-FMO files. 4. lastly... it's obvious you didn't send your file to anyone else for testing, because that person would have caught at least the 2nd one (can't catch the 3rd if the 2nd is present). and if the 2nd wasn't there, they'd have caught the 3rd. and possibly given you suggestions to have not caused the 1st. 5. at least you fixed your avatar. so, yea. [/rant]
