Re: FFR Community Pack Winter 2011 Released
I honestly didn't expect there to be three tsukasa files in this pack, aha. but I suppose niko called first dibs since he submitted captain murasa way before I stepped dark prism and sargon submitted heaven's race pretty last minute
if that's the case I'm the spitfire when it comes to tsukasa 'cause I almost have the entire discography in physical CD copy (missing 3-4 CDs atm) thanks for the reviews all

Re: FFR Community Pack Winter 2011 Released
I just played all the files of this pack, and I'm hereby making my full review. I warn you, my judgement will sound like I take what I say as universal facts, but I'm just talking for myself, so don't be confused. Also the grade I put is just a way for me to simply say how I liked the file.
ps : there are so much files that are violating the pack rules GD imposed it feels like a part of the pack is screaming "**** da police" to me A Far East Fantasy Flowering Game Night (Condoct) I have to say, I just didn't like it. The way you stepped it seemed way too "light" to me, not in the sense of quantity, but in how I felt the notes. The song had a good potential but you didn't exploited it, you just kept to a limited layering instead of exploring the possibilities 5/10 Accept Bloody Fate (Kaneh) Same thing as above, playing it just feels like playing an average 2006 file. I don't know for you guys, but I like feeling the tap in harmony with the song. The notes basically just sync the sounds, it's like you didn't put much thoughts in the layering, just trying to follow the music or something. I have to say, making a stepfile is more than just following sounds, it's all about the impression on the player ; your stepping style is just too damn linear and that's frustrating for me to play ; take more liberties and be more ExPrEsSiVe, maybe it'll be funnier to play ! 5.5/10 After Laughter (Niko) I liked this one, it wasn't much special but your style was nicely getting along the song. 7.5/10 BabeL ~Next Story~ (leonid) It was enjoyable to play but I think these "hard rythmic" parts could have been layered with heavier patterns (putting more jumps and hands !). Otherwise it's good, but the style is too weak for me 7/10 Blackened (Baq12) I know Metallica is cool and all but I don't think it's really a good experience to play. Maybe it comes from the bad song quality, but I didn't really enjoyed the file, and I think it just comes from the song. The sounds in it are not that steppable 6/10 Byakuya Gentou (leonid) YES Leonid that's just like I like your files the color notes were cool and you managed to make the freezes really nice to play without making me get the feeling they were dragging or something. Just cool. 8/10 Captain Murasa (Niko) Not a very special file. Typical stream sim I guess ? I really liked the colored notes at the beginning that synced the piano, it was a good idea ; but the way you synced the bass was annoying me, it lacked consistency - apart from that, it's fun 7/10 Circus Speedy Mix (Kommisar) PERPLEXITY. I just don't know wether it was good or bad ; wasn't so bad. But will not replay it 6.5/10 concon (Gundam-Dude) cool !!!! You could have layered some parts with an heavier style but I like your sims because they usually represent the song so well so 7/10 [b]COOLISH WALK (Kommisar) Typical anime file 6.5/10 Dark Prism (Gundam-Dude) Better than concon. Not your best, though. It'd be a nice MA file 8/10 Ecclesia (Reshiram) Good little piece of file, I'd like to see more from ya ! 7.5/10 Flames Within These Black Feathers (Szalu) Meh. Too linear, not personal enough, try new ideas ! Maybe it comes from the bad choice of song, because it's really not what I'd take to make a sim. 5.5/10 Heaven's Race Guitar Style (Sargon) JIZZ IN MY PANT. Seriously Sargon that file merits a goddamn "excellence label" or something. At first it was good, and then the guitar pumped it, and it was fabulous. That's actually heavenly to play <3 9.5/10 Hysteric Soda (Gundam-Dude) Easily your best file GD. It was long, and I felt like you were trolling us with the rules (where's my easier chart!?!?!?) but I really, reaaaallly liked it, hard enough to enjoy ; the only objection I have is the abuse of coloured notes, which makes the file unnecessarily hard to MA. 10/10 INITIATIVE (Yume) As an anime op file, I liked it more than the average. Why not heh ! 7.5/10 Innovation (Detrimentalist) Friggin quality file right now. Playing it was a good experience, thank you. <3 u. 9/10 KOMMICORE (0 & Torrent) no. no./no. Negus Nagast (Wineandbread) I'M. IN. LOVE. WITH THIS FILE. Bro, what you made is pretty much the best file of the year (even though you stepped it in 2011 rite) and I don't think what's coming for 2012 will ever surpass it, congratulations, be applauded, take your medal. - On a more serious note, how you treated it was just too good, the sax is a PLEASURE to tap and the rest of the file smells like perfection. 11/10 Now A NEW Day (ca25nada & Gundam-Dude) Meh. Nothing really special there, average file (which means "good but nothing more" to me). 6.5/10 Overture 1928 (Baq12) Better than legacy's, nice job on that one bro, the more I played, the more I enjoyed it. You should make more like it. 7/10 Pair of Aces (Midigami) Your style is ****ing bizarre man, I don't know what you did for that file, it's like a drunk kil file and alcohol is bad. Don't ever do that again, the song had a good potential :< the steps just didn't stick to the rhythm 4.5/10 Phalanx (Keywii) Weird but playable, not really to my taste, too experimental for me 7/10 Pop (Kommisar vs Rogdor) The song is cool and I had the feeling it was towing the file which was trying to be as cool as the song ; nice attempt, but not a total success to me, try again you were near victory!! 6.5/10 Rave7 (hi19hi19) Lol. Heh that was fun. A bit of weird even for a dev/null file, but fun. 7/10 Reasiness (Niko) Hmm, there are some things in this file I would have put in a different way, maybe it's just my subjectivity talking but, hmmm. You managed to make the steps not-frustrating, it was something I feared when I listened to the song but you got out of that peacefully 7.5/10 Result (S Rank) (Midigami) Yah it's good, but it's short, make longer files like that and you have my gratitude 8/10 (also, you didn't need to sync the song till the last hearable sound, when it went looping for the third time, it felt boring - when you continued putting notes after the fade out began, it felt ridiculous) RPG (Yume) Everything in it was balanced and good to tap. The freezes, the color notes, everything - I want to see you make more like this, try to leave aside generic songs, maybe you'll get better. 8/10 SAMBA de ASPEL (bmah) YAY bmah I liked it ! The color notes made it even nicer to play ; apart from that, nothing much to add. 9/10 SIN (Nohara&Yume) Meh. Why. Well, I guess your purpose was to make "Puppet SIN except it's V2!!" and for that task, it one-upped it nicely, but it just left me confused for a moment, because it's barely an original file. Of course it was nice to play, but I know Puppet chart's by heart and I had the strong feeling I was playing it again. Well, at least I can't hate you for having fixed most of the problems I had with his file - but I didn't made this restep for a reason. 9.5/10 (being a restep, it prevents me from being hyped ) Star Trail (Gundam-Dude & LongGone) EXCELLENT. I don't know where I heard this song for the first time because it sounds familiar, but you sure managed to pull steps nicely and I appreciate it yay 8.5/10 Super Bass (WTFBrandon) No thank you I didn't even played it halfway before quitting because it just didn't conciliated with my view of the song - way too much hands to feel like you took it seriously. 5/10 Super Soaker (gnr61) Extreme file, and really consistent, just what I waited from you. These bursts where amazing to tap. 9.5/10 The Sky of Sadness (leonid) It's just as good as byakuya to hit but, it had some problems with matching the songs for some moments, which somehow annoys me. And I don't want to play it with mute, it just kills the purpose 7/10 Turning Japanese (Kommisar) Hmm. Maybe just too long for what it is and what it takes. 6/10 Ulterior Boss Battle (hi19hi19) Just the average challenging file with lots of minijacks but I don't actually like it though 6.5/10 Ultrasounds! (Rin-Dude) Now I'm served with the good kommi file of the pack. Your files aren't always pleasing to tap, but when they do, they are awesome. 9/10 worldenddominator (Profraine) Hmmm, it let me puzzled, it's a mix of passable patterns and good ones. 7/10 Yellow Head Joe (Lynn) Not excellent but it's still a nice experience to play it, and I'd replay it because I found it was pretty good to MA. 8/10 And if I had to make a top 5 : 1. Heaven's Race Guitar Style 2. Negus Nagast 3. Hysteric Soda 4. Super Soaker 5. SIN There you have my review.

LMAO, didn't know there was a Stepmania meme.
It reminds me of Rog and the "I liked Terminal 11 before the 24ths on RATO" pic. |

Re: FFR Community Pack Winter 2011 Released
My reviews
Only Played Main charts Yellow Head Joe - Nice file, my only complaint is that sometimes the file is too broken up for my take, but good anyway worldenddominator - Beginning was nice, then you started stepping continuous boring 16ths and then jacks that don't really emphasize too much imo Vertex - Not the kind of file i would play tbh but it was fun and flowed really well Ultrasounds - Damn those 48ths, too hard for the me that hasn't played in a month, really fun scoring file though Ulterior boss battle - gay, I don't have any other word to describe this lol Turning Japanese - I can't stand this song lol, easy nice file i guess The Sky of madness - Typical leonid hard file i guess, some jack patters were too gay though Super Soaker - I honestly don't find these files fun and appealing, but it's too subjective Super Bass - GAY SONG AS ****!, nice file Star Trail - Amazing file, one of my favorite files from the pack, probably cause I'm a Duvet-duder sucket but w/e. Solo chart is amazing too, too bad i suck at solo SIN - ESTi , will play this again fun file Session 9 - Those hold patterns -.-, amazing song but didn't find the file that fun sAMBA de aspel - Really fun and interesting file to play, it surprised me RPG - Could've been better if chorus was more percussion oriented, nice approach anyways Results (S Rank) - too short :d Reasiness (my file) - Play the solo chart thanks =) Rave7 - your gay Pop - Best file of the pack, amazing shit :], dat beatbox Phalanx - Nice file, Hated the song Pair of aces - Flowed pretty well despite the jacky patterns gj, will replay Overture 1928 - DT <3, simple easy file Now A New Day - Quad bait probably for a lot of ppl, solo is also nice to play Negus Nagast - Nice Mine dodging practice file Kommicore - NO Innovation - I love you for this file <3 Initiative - Fun file, holds don't bother me that much as your usual files here Hysteric Soda - Fun Scoring File man, song will probably be earcancer for a lot of ppl though lol Heaven's Race Guitar Style - Tsukasa!, <3 Sargon, nice file, those 64ths are a bit annoying though lol Flames within these black feathers - File was ok, some jacks and hands were iffy ecoFear - Fun file, it became a little too gay in the middle imo, but i guess it's good for scoring so w/e Ecclesia - Simfle well done and short but I can't really find much replayability on it due to song choice. Dark Prism - "TSUKASA IS LORD GOD AND MASTER AND YOU ARE NOTHING" Word, fun replayable file, I love the middle and second part of the song COOLISH WALK - ANIME SWING, amazing swing file, probably one of the best anime swing files i've played. DAT ROLL concon - S-C-U, Easy file and at the same file good for scoring, one of my favorites of the pack Circus - This is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY and good Captain Murasa - My file Byakuya Gentou - This was really fun to play despite some combinated hold+bursts patters that were a bit awkward Blackened - OMG those rainbow thrills so hard to ma damn Babel Next Story - I Can't mash at all, good fun hard file Armament Armed Arm - Good Layered and fun file After Laughter - My file Accept Bloody Fate - Very fun and simple file to play A far east fantasy....... - This file is easfhsaiuhdaksojhfdiuhfdohfjasdhfjkdshklashdfjsal so hard at the end xD. That was my first impression. Second Impression: Pretty nice file, those streams omg lol BTW DON'T YOU ****IN' DARE COMPARE SHARPEL TO TSUKASA YOU ****IN' ***CHES |
