you guys obviously don't see the potential of 6 panels

yes tass we've talked about it before, I'm just stating a few points

first of all, by having 6 panel on ffr we're sparking interest. I'm pretty sure if ffr started out as 5 panel or something you guys wouldn't be complaining today. it's about INTEREST, not trying to stay away from sm

and the only reason you guys say that no one cares about solo is because not enough people play it and you've never tried it yourself. I've convinced quite a few people to try solo, and those who were skeptical ended up believing solo's potential.

besides, we've hit a dead end with 4 panels. people have become so good that the only noteworthy scores are mashfests or ridiculous AAAA's of color note fests. most all of the stepping techniques have been already done by someone, and just about every type of song you can name has been stepped before

if you can't accept 6 panels and you've never really tried it before, you're being pretty closed-minded and stupid. and don't just play a few easy dumps and say that you hate it. at least be able to AA zeta or something

again, I don't want to use the reputation card, but I know more sh*ts than you guys etc

can't we make it 10 panel? I like 10 more than 6. Why does the number have to be 6?

I'm not stating 10 as a joke. I like real extravagant 14 key play on IIDX, but 14 + 2 scratch is a bit too extensive, so I wanted something a bit smaller. 10 keys.

that still only represents .01% of the players, if not less. even the vast majority of SM players can't do that on the majority of files.

the problem is that the forums cater to the loyal long-time users and the really good users. rarely, if ever, do you hear the opinions from the average, casual, or crappy players. and, realize it or not... they're the vast majority.

that also goes with the people making the charts. they tend to be the top players as well, or at least better players.

10 is a bit too much, but 8 panels would actually be pretty cool.

though it is probably a rather small fraction, it's definitely more than that rofl

and it doesn't matter, because solo opens possibilities for all players, beginners or pros.

now about 8 or 10 key simulation. 10 key doesn't work because you'd have to move your hands or use thumbs, which feel awkward due to its position on your hands. 8 key might work, and it's not a bad idea, but a lot of people will dismiss it because they won't be able to move their pinkies, which takes more practice and the ring finger. at this point, 6 keys is the best.

those who transitioned from 4 to 6 panel, remember how hard it was to get used to 6? moving to 8 would be exponentially harder

if you still don't believe me just read the faq in my guide: http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...ad.php?t=95699

ps tass I'm sorry for derailing but there's over 400 pages in this thread. I don't think a page of slightly off-topic discussion would kill anyone

I agree. It seems like a quite interesting way to play.

But making it in FFR would be hellish.

this is stupid

ffr will have the 4-panel singles but an addition with 6-panel style of play it won't hurt aside from implementing it

if you don't like it don't play it

*edit*

seriously this is the q/b thread, if you guys want to discuss solo and implementing it whine about it somewhere else or make a thread discussing it

we really, really don't need solo for FFR at this point sorry

I'm with Tass on this one. The ridiculously vast majority of the site, including many of the high tier players (like myself), are fine with 4 arrows. I absolutely guarantee you that 6-panel on FFR could never reach a tenth the popularity that 4-panel already has, and that's what really matters in the end.

Personally, the only thing I want as a player is for more 11's and 12's to be in the game, which is something I've been trying to accomplish with my own files (ML and Brandish are both very high 11's, and HO is a 12). I'm completely fine with 4 panels and still find the game quite enjoyable on many levels.

For a game with actual depth and technique to its gameplay, play Guitar Hero or something. FFR = 4 panels, and I see no reason to change that.

FFR doesn't need 6 panels. It really gays up FFR I think. Now if it does come out and its made an option, then fine, but you would have to make both a 4 panel and a 6 panel. Im fine with that.

More 11's and 12's would be nice. Even nice if the skill tokens dont have such retarded ass requirments for people that have sucky PA, AKA looks like strawberry and dore's Disconnected is going to be a skill token and with Tass's hint about making skill tokens harder, I dont see to many people getting the song which ****ing sux.

Edit: Shash, you back for good? You should be a judge. From what I heard, you did a really good job back then as a judge. 3 FFR judges would be a good thing.

I just looked at 3 of the new files.

Disconnected Hardkore looks amazing

Tell v2 has some Of-beat jumps at the end (watching tass' replay, the jumps at the VERY END are extremely off beat)

Strawberry Sweetz was pure Sharpnel File BS, as usual. I wish someone would come up with an original way to step a Sharpnel song. Havent seen anything original since M.A.M.A.

Edit:

Kagome 100%- OH GOD IT'S EHHS ALL OVER AGAIN PLEASE STOP THE HIGH PITCH TALKING!

HHSS!!- It was....ok. It was understepped on some parts. gonna need a v2.

{Edit 2: Watching Tass' (9-0-0-1) replay with the Avmiss replay bug gives it (8-6-6-6).....WTF?}

Just to give my opinion, I'm with Stargroup. He introduced me to solo and I love it so much. <3

I see no harm with adding a solo part to FFR.
