SAMBA de ASPEL (Heavy) Negus Nagast (Heavy) Super Soaker SIN COOLISH WALK (Oni) (woop for JaPaN song \o/) Rave7 (come on, I gotta give it to hi19 for making a legit hard file even if edit is a dump and I can barely pass oni rofl) |

Apparently people like Captain Murasa. I'll tear it apart tomorrow.

Re: FFR Community Pack Winter 2011 Released
Blackened reminded me of Eruption with dem rainbow notes (but with more 4th and 8th notes than Eruption) and Overtured 1928 (that's the title right @.@?) was okay but easier to MA than Blackened imho.

Re: FFR Community Pack Winter 2011 Released
Sorry gd, the Korean simfile sounded Japanese. If it makes you feel any better, Star Trail was nice (the gimmicks, while not off putting, made my eyes water )
btw, Capitan Murasa [Standard] was rather nice with it's usage of scales, but could be improved by putting more notes in the second slowdown to keep flow going and to not understep the ending. |

wub wub theory
Btw probably reviewing the entire pack tomorrow, I played it yesterday but I haven't played in a month so I think if I review it know it will be biased cause I suck now at stepmania and most of the songs were sightread for me so I'll try again tomorrow with a better perspective Last edited by Victorique; 01-4-2012 at 11:11 PM.. |

Re: FFR Community Pack Winter 2011 Released
I've played a few files by far, maybe I'll play the entire pack this afternoon. Maybe. And I suck at reviews, so if I do any, it'll be from a player's PoV.

Re: FFR Community Pack Winter 2011 Released
played more files today...actually tbh that word is inaccurate as our home computer is dead and since we have no money to buy a new one, I just moved all my files to my netbook and I've set autoplay on Stepmania (using the table to tap along)
A Far East Fantasy - wtf are some of those patterns lol. okay this is pretty blatantly scorebait so it's fine, but I don't see myself playing this for fun. shame since the song's actually very good After Laughter - having a bit of trouble following the green note theory in here. is it for the piano chords or is there some internal logic there? (if you want to explain I'm all ears) otherwise this is a very relaxed file, great as a cooldown. liked the sense of progression and the groove this file gets into is quite unique Blackened - I love you Baq. just wanted to make sure you saw that; it's great to have you back <3. I remember this file from LCP2 (I think?), hehe. very traditional Baq file, straightforward with rainbows drizzled all over everything. fun to play though Captain Murasa - simple but hella effective and you really made the most out of this song. files don't always have to be intricately designed to work, and sometimes we forget that this is still supposed to be a game. this file, thankfully, reminds us why we're all still here. Dark Prism - beautiful song. Gundam, bro, you're really carving out a niche with these files--the greatest strength of this is that it knows when to hold back and when to just release everything, and it's quite satisfying to play. Heaven's Race - solid up to the ending. that guitar solo really seemed overstepped, even though you were trying to go for expressiveness. it's kinda a difficulty spike and you could easily have avoided it, so it leaves me a little stumped. Hysteric Soda - you know how I feel about these files already. the color notes get ridicuous near the end. also maybe sliiightly repetitive? Now A New Day - loved this file. reminds me of I Want You from the last pack. you excel at making these...chill yet intricate files, and I'm enjoying playing them a lot. Overture 1928 - okay, tbh I had to quit out of this file once I saw some of the jumps/hands. to an extent it's because of the song itself, but quite frankly the number of patterns in here that are near impossible to hit is way way too high. Reasiness - I think I saw a few rhythmic errors and slight inconsistencies with freeze layering. otherwise this is nice Results (S Rank) - too short to really have very much impact (you'll learn to pick better songs as you continue to step) and felt too unpolished at that; files need to have some sort of internal logic to be effective, but I couldn't get a read on this. SIN - this is so confusing to review lmao. I love love LOVE Puppet's file for this, and for the most part your file plays very similarly. the good thing is that you avoid some of the super-annoying gimmicks in his file, but the flipside of that choice is that there really isn't a very distinct sense of identity to this file. taking my dumb subjective opinion out of this, it's very well-made and fun, and overall I'd have to say that this stands on its own merits. The Sky Of Sadness - gets hella cramped but it's so much fun to play I don't even really mind. going to whore this so much :> what will mochers decide to review next? this is FFR Idol! Armament Armed Arm (Scylaax) [2 charts] ecoFEAR (Scylaax) [2 charts] Flames Within These Black Feathers (Szalu) [2 charts] INITIATIVE (Yume) [3 charts] Rave7 (hi19hi19) [3 charts] SAMBA de ASPEL (bmah) [2 charts] Star Trail (Gundam-Dude & LongGone) [3 charts] + [3 solo charts] Turning Japanese (Kommisar) [2 charts] Ultrasounds! (Rin-Dude) [2 charts] Vertex (Scylaax) [2 charts] Yellow Head Joe (Lynn) [2 charts] Last edited by moches; 01-5-2012 at 06:11 AM.. |

Re: FFR Community Pack Winter 2011 Released
Captain Murasa (played heavy) - PR could be a bit better in the beginning, but there's too much subjective***gottry around PR so I'll leave that alone. Wasn't bad, but it got really repetitive. I'm seeing a pattern here with Tsukasa and repetitiveness. Hmmmm
