My top 10

10-Ranger-X (Genesis)-Kick ass soundtrack for its time in my opinion and it actually felt like something I've never played before.

9-Ghosts N Goblins (NES) Frustrating as hell, which is what I look for in most of my game choices. Ultimate satisfaction was gained upon completion.

8-Einhander (PSX) Very good shooter by Squaresoft. Nuff said.

7-Boktai (GBA) Very unique gaming concept and decent storyline and gameplay made this one an instant classic in my eyes.

6-Zelda series (Multi Platform) If you don't know already, don't ask

5-Psychonauts (XBOX) This game was seriously awesome. Anyone who says otherwise probably hasn't played it, or just has no taste in gaming.

4-Tales of Symphonia (GC) Presea and Regal. Nuff said.

3-FF series (Multi Platform) The music rocks. The stories are almost always epic. The characters are memorable. Chocobos!!! (fave 2,4,6,7,9,10)

2-Nippon Icchi games (PS2) I cant play one without laughing at the witty dialogue. Love the stories. Why wouldn't you like watching little chibi characters with swords unleash a huge beam of death from the sky on their opponents?

1-Tie between: Shadow hearts (PS2) Valkyrie Profile (PSX) Parasite Eve (PSX) Star Ocean series (multi platform) and Baten Kaitos (GC) Very hard for me to really keep a #1 game when all of these in my opinion are equally as good. They all have everything going for them in the Music, Gameplay, Storyline, and replayability departments.

Honorable Mentions: Chrono Cross: Besides loving everything about the game, the track Dragon God during the time devourer battle is still one of my favorite tracks in an RPG game.
Legend of Legaia:The battle system is so full of win. The bosses kicked your ass in seconds if you were a first time player. I love Noa :3
Silent hill 2: this game seriously creeped me the hell out and I loved every minute of it regardless.

Yeah, Master Materias on all characters lvl 99 with maxed out stats from grinding the drinks, etc. I still start new games on it XD

My favorite game was Final Fantasy X. I liked the game it was my first game for ps2 i enjoyed it very much i loved the turn base fighting style it had, the graphics for it were awesome for just a ps2 game. I also liked it because it was a harder game for me at the time i was only 10 but it was a really fun game and i loved it i recommend it to everyone that likes a good RPG game :]

It was pretty easy for me imo O.o Though I hated X-2 for some reason...I really don't know why xD. Though the random moster fights are annoying, its like every 5 seconds there's one @.@

gonna have to agree with this, ff7 is one of my all times favorites, i also very much like 9.

zelda oot is a timeless classic that never bores me, i've beaten the game probably around 25-30 times, still doesn't get old, i still get scared when im in the forest temple when those things come from the roof and swoop you and take you to the beginning of the dungeon.

i think that majoras mask is fun, but it's really difficult for me, i can't figure out what to do in this game.

i think twilight princess is also a VERY good game, still one of the best wii titles imo because it has a very long storyline, great graphics and great interface.

now i get to pokemon, i love pokemon, but to a certain extent, i stopped playing after ****in 5th gen came out because they're getting ****ing ridiculous now, but i still play 4th and under games, i can beat gold silver or crystal in like an hour on an emulator haha

I'm getting serious on this part though right here, I would say cod in general is one of my favorites but it ruined my life, it made me fail english this year, and has tore down my GPA, cod is fun but don't get addicted like I did.

GTA IV is also one of my all time favorites because there's countless things to do with friends on multiplayer.

I agree that it has gotten a bit ridiculous, but I still love playing any Pokemon game.
The newer ones aren't nearly as fun as RBY and GSC, but they are still fun nonetheless.

For anyone who mentioned the new Ocarina of Time: I hope you realize that all they really did in that game is change the graphics. They made no attempt to make it any different from the original. I understand it's a remake, but my God the most you could of done Nintendo is at least make us a new orchestral soundtrack for the game. The Nintendo 64 had a lot of restrictions so reusing the soundtrack from the original is just plain lazy, no offense. I'd rather mention Ocarina of Time (as in the N64) if I was to say it was the "best game of all time".

But on topic. I'd have to say the best video game ever made in gameplay and originality would have to be a tie between Tales of Symphonia and Chrono Trigger. If I had to go on a game that's less known though I'd say Lufia 2: Rise of the Sinistrals. The remake in this case on DS is fine.

edit: Holy fuh re-reading the thread I totally forgot about the DKC trilogy, I don't think I ever spent that much time playing a platformer in comparison to any of those.
