Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2
^ this please
Also if there's to be a hard songs batch, pls let the great unwashed heathen (i.e. the non-judges) submit stuff too.

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2
If there's a hard songs batch, that would definitely be open to everyone for submitting.
Also, I plan on holding an internal batch for the tournament (with permission from bmah/JX on timing), since it's related specifically for the event, but I'm actually going to pick strong stepartists that have shown they can provide good charts (or at least, good ideas in charts) that might be worthy of using for the tournament. They'd have to be capable of making decently hard charts that would be considered acceptable by batch standards, because it's likely that they will be supplemental. Obviously, all judges will be allowed to submit for this, at the very least. I do intend on picking some solid stepartists (and some of you might know who you are). Ideally, I would like to have a certain number of judges for these as well, but I want judges that are capable of judging very hard files on both a technical level and a playability level (same as hard songs batch). It would have to be a very firm deadline, though. This message isn't to say that others are not capable of judging/simfiling at a very high level/difficulty at all, and my aim isn't to insult other judges or simfile artists, but I feel like these judges are also incredibly strong players that know what players will struggle with, as well as know what will bring about good difficulty in the tournament. It will allow me to receive a strong influx of files while ensuring that the quality of those files is relatively high. (And if people get upset with what I say, I apologize, but I am someone who firmly agrees with supplementing simfiles by very reputable/consistently good stepartists.) Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2
I'm probably best fitted to judge ONLY hard files. I think at this point it seems I'm not considered a main judge anymore but I'm fine with that. I prefer looking through a bunch of hard files anyway, giving notes on patterns that are comfortable/aren't comfortable, etc.

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2
Just because you've had a long stint of inactivity doesn't disqualify you from being a judge if you've provided quality notes in the past (and to my knowledge, you have).
But yeah, you're certainly a user I would hope was involved in the judgment of the hard songs batch, considering your skill level and your knowledge of simfiling. |

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2
Seniorita Bonita and ShutEmDown
Not sure if I should just use the first 1:10 of ShutEmDown or step the whole thing. The middle quiet section is really tame, then it just repeats. On the other hand a mere 70 seconds is kinda short. Thoughts?

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2
cool song! i'd say step it all, ending at 110 would seem incomplete. I didn't get a good sense of conclusion there.
plus we're used to some repetition w/ celldweller

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2
Considering we don't have many files in the queue now, I think we should start judgement asap. Also, I think it's quite difficult to get 12 judges for us this time, we need to go with 2 groups / 4 judges per group. 45-50/group seems good.

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2
Please give us at least 1 day warning if you are closing the batch.

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2
Quick question:
So I just send 3 songs this batch... and I actually want to send a different one instead of one I just sent... can I change that or is it too late xD

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2
I resent "The Whip" Please use the newer version sent to you today. The old one glitched out and did not have the last 10 seconds in it. (oops) Thanks.

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2
I checked this thread many times and still couldn't figure out if anybody even bothered to open the file I sent all the way back on the first batch in May.
