ending patterns are really awkward on my fxxkin desire for you. even though they are "rolly", they are very tricky to hit, and ending it with the 1handed trill which transitions really rigidly is a bit too over the top for my liking since the ending is already spiked enough.

    Layering.

what did you layer throughout the whole song? percussion. ok. you could have made the file actually good by stepping what is prominent in the song. the vocals. cmon dude are you that dumb lol

Then, you stick to layering snares pretty much the whole way through the song, completely ignoring the fact that there's /crash cymbals/ which are /louder/ and more /prominent/ than the snares. Why not layer those too? I mean, they're the end of the musical phrase usually, it makes a whole ton of sense layering those in.

And of course, you pick and choose when to layer in the guitar sounds. Don't give me any bullshit about "oh i was worried about difficulty, didn't want a spike". Well, look at your end of the song jesus christ lol.

Shitton of misrhythms and stuff. Cymbal flare in the mid-beginning is fail. Alot of the individual bass kicks inbetween phrases should be 16ths. That piano slowdown in the mid-end? I fucking cringed when I got to that part, didn't feel at all like i was playing anything fucking close to the piano. And you left out the guitar too. THEN you decided to say "fuck that even though it's a really easy part of the song, I'm just going to start concentrating back on the percussion, completely ignoring the defining part of this section, the piano". Oh, and of course, leave out the hi-hat too, you don't want a difficulty spi- ending lol

crap file, no flow, sections don't mesh with each other, feels like you tried to show everyone how to properly make a hard file and just failed at it
i agree with a lot of this (guitar, cymbal shouldve been stepped in slowdown, misrhythms), but i think a lot more can be accomplished with a less hostile tone.

Played FFR for the first time in months to test the hated Middie file.

I didnt find the file unbearable personally.

Although I completely laughed my ass off when I realize he actually stepped a metal song with Miku Hatsune vocals. Dear god pull yourself together man.

Guys just because Middie's notorious for hating on files in his own way doesn't mean it's okay for you guys to try and replicate his mannerisms. That's really something we want to cut back on in SotW threads. Constructive criticism or posting why you didn't like the file is fine. But cut down on the blatant hate just because it's him.

I honestly didn't think MFDFY was that bad. It's not great or anything, but it's not bad.

I have no issues with the first 200 or so notes. Kinda wished there were triples going to the cymbal crashes between 130 and 210 but not a huge deal.

At 210 there's a [34] jump followed by a bunch of [134] triples. Why isn't that first jump also a triple? They're all going to the same sound so either they should have been all jumps or all triples. It seems really nitpicky but when there's a lot of problems like this it starts to add up. It happens again soon after with 16th jumptrills going to the guitar, but the same guitar then gets stepped as a single note only a few beats later.

After that you decided at 360 to just step percussion as jumps and leave everything else as single notes. After the previous section is just feels incredibly weak for such a heavy song and especially with such a difficult ending waiting at the end.

From 470 to 690 is good for the most part. Layering those cymbal crashes would have been nice though.

The breakdown starting at around 880 was very underwhelming. Like the section at 360, this would have benefitted from a lot more jumps. The song has such a heavy sound to it, and yet it's stepped so lightly.

And then we get to that intense jumpstream. Feels a bit like Extratone Pirate's little sister; not nearly as fast and with easier patterns. It's such a massive difficulty spike but otherwise it wasn't awkward to play. Just that one section that Dossar pointed out earlier was really unfun.

I really don't think it's a bad file but there's so many things that I think could have been done better. 6/10 - Noticeable problems but at least it had fun moments.
