Re: Songs of the Week (December 2, 2012)
Well I was thinking of the Destination Renard song which had a fast BPM but was rated pretty high yet got conquered by the tournament players (and most people in general). To go with my joking to Rob, 70 would be reasonable -- though I agree that it might be better as a 71 or staying at 72.
As for the SSH file, I only reached those 24ths once and blasted through them like they weren't even there. I was actually expecting more after that point, but aside from some 16ths that felt awkward and the 32nd "grace" notes, there was nothing more difficult. Thus I found it a lot easier than a 75.
Hell, think of some easier songs with similar-style 24ths (Distorted God at 71 comes to mind). Sure, the SSH file is faster, but there are many more 24ths with perhaps (opinion, but I suspect the general consensus would agree) more awkward patterns in DG. Anyhow, I imagine the 24ths in Lightning Strikes could be effectively AAAd by jump-cheating... and so aside from factoring in length (which I personally don't think should affect a file's difficulty rating very much unless it's constant stamina-draining handstream, which this is not), I could very easily consider Lightning Strikes much lower than a 75.
